Feels like the girl pictured has a name of Gaelic origin to me, Irish or Scottish maybe. Being that it’s for a story, I doubt you want something hard to pronounce, so I’ll stick to some straightforward ones…
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Fiona[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name]
[name]Tiernan[/name]
[name]Meghan[/name]
Also, what is the name of her best friend?
Hello there-
When I read about your character I immediatly thought of the name [name]Katie[/name] but when I looked at the picture I think [name]Kelsey[/name] also might be a suiting name.
[name]Hope[/name] I helped
Regards-

I’m a writer too, so I feel your pain! Coming up with character names is so stressful for NEs! I like to use character names that have a subtle connection to the character. For example, I’m writing about a character who comes from an uptight family but is a bit of a rebel. I named her [name]Katherine[/name], which means pure (because her parents would have loved that meaning as they are very conservative), and her nickname is [name]Kit[/name], which is more out-there and individual. It’s always good to consider what the characters parents were like. Where they hippies? Then maybe [name]April[/name] or [name]Daisy[/name]. Are they conservative, businessy types? Maybe [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Laura[/name]. This character of yours seems honest, compassionate and like a great person. Let’s see what we can come up with.
Looking at her picture [name]April[/name] immediately popped into mind. Also, what’s her background? She looks Irish- maybe [name]Rosaleen[/name] or [name]Maeve[/name]. Based off her personality (name meanings are in parenthesis):
[name]Veronica[/name] (true image)
[name]Vera[/name] (truth/faith)
[name]Amina[/name] (honest, trustworthy)
[name]Dara[/name] (compassionate)
[name]Aimee[/name] (beloved friend)
[name]Ruth[/name] (friendship)
[name]Raya[/name] (friend)
[name]Wendy[/name] (friend)
[name]Nora[/name] (honor)
[name]Monica[/name] (advisor, truth)
[name]Mercy[/name] (compassion)
I love the idea of using [name]Ruth[/name], which has biblical friendship significance. I have a great friend named [name]Ruth[/name] and it fits her so well. We call her [name]Ruthie[/name]. I also like [name]Aimee[/name] for it’s meaning, and she was probably born in the late 80s when [name]Amy[/name] was getting a lot of use.
The first thing that popped into my mind when I saw her was [name]Heather[/name], but something 80’s and not too heavy, others I could see…
[name]Heather[/name]
[name]Rebecca[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]April[/name]
[name]Julie[/name]
[name]Emily[/name] (but this is probably because she kind of reminds me of [name]Emily[/name] Blunt)
[name]Anna[/name]
[name]Jill[/name]
[name]Wendy[/name]
[name]Leah[/name]
[name]Alison[/name]
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Summer[/name]
Good [name]Luck[/name]
