So we have chosen the name [name]Sloan[/name] for our baby girl and are having trouble finding a middle name for her. We want some very feminine as her first and last names both are unisex/masculine sounding. We arent fond of most older names ([name]Beatrice[/name], [name]Marilyn[/name], [name]Pearl[/name], etc…), and nothing too wild, just something really feminine. Suggestions?
Also, we are trying to decide on whether to spell her name [name]Sloan[/name] or [name]Sloane[/name]. Which do you prefer?
I knew a little girl [name]Sloane[/name], and she was a hoot! Unfortunately, I never knew her middle name, but I really like the sound of [name]Sloane[/name] [name]Eloise[/name].
I have a student whose name is [name]Haley[/name] [name]Sloan[/name]. I’m not fond of the name [name]Haley[/name], but it has a nice ring. I think one syllable names go better as middle names, and I always have a good number of students who go by their middle names. It never seems to cause any problems. The “ie” sound seems to go well with an ending “n”.
Otherwise, you should go with a 3 syllable middle name, depending on your last name. [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Katherine[/name], [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Arabella[/name], [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Christianna[/name], [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Juliet[/name], [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Helena[/name], etc.
Thanks for the suggestions so far. I read them off to DH and so far all but [name]Sloan[/name]/[name]Sloane[/name] [name]Juliet[/name] have been vetoed. Keep the suggestions coming please! We are really having a hard time pairing this name with something that suits our last name too. I think a 3 syllable name would work well and so far we haven’t found something we absolutely love.
I realy like the sound of [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]. Also [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Magnolia[/name] or [name]Sloan[/name] [name]Emilia[/name].
We are contemplating sloan as a name so I did some research. I find “sloan” to be the boys spelling and "sloane"to be the girls spelling. We’ve come across the same problem as you…it is hard to find a middle name that goes. What about sweet and simple…sloane eva, neva, mia, ava, wren?
