help with a middle name

so DH is stuck on maisie (if we ever have a girl!). i like it, but can’t seem to find a good flow with any mn’s. if i found that “perfect” name, i could finally agree with DH. we have a son, beckett reed. our other girl names are isla and gemma. i love maisie clementine, DH hates it. DH likes maisie beatrix/beatrice so he can call her “mae bea”. yes, he has that kind of humor. anyways…help me find the perfect match to maisie!!! please!! (i know many people think maisie is too “cutesy” as a stand alone name, but we don’t.)

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name] came to mind first!

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Caroline[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]June[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jane[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Claire[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Joanna[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Elizabeth[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Lucille[/name] - any?

we have june as a mn option (for my gma) but i wondered if it would work with maisie, since the name might be shortened to mae…mae june? too themey? DH thinks maisie jane is a little too close to mary jane. i do like maisie elizabeth and maisie annabel (DH doesn’t like annabel though).

Well, since [name]Beckett[/name] [name]Reed[/name] is short, I’m assuming that is the type of name that sounds good with your last name. I don’t think [name]Maisie[/name] [name]June[/name] is too theme-y as is, but I wasn’t thinking of shortening [name]Maisie[/name] to [name]Mae[/name], since it is already short and sweet and nickname-y.

Others (sorry if I already suggested some):

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Bess[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Beth[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Cate[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Fern[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jane[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Laine[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Lyn[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Nell[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Pearl[/name] - but [name]Maisie[/name] means [name]Pearl[/name]…
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Prue[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Rose[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Sue[/name] - VERY country…
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Tess[/name]

Or perhaps another unisex choice, like [name]Reed[/name]:

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Bell[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Brett[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Brooke[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Crane[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Drew[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Grey[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jade[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jean[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jude[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Lane[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Taite[/name]/[name]Tate[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] Tyme
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Yale[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] Yates

I think [name]Maisie[/name] is very sweet. I love your idea of [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clementine[/name].

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]/[name]Katherine[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Josephine[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Mirabelle[/name] (probably TOO cute!)
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Matilda[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Violet[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Winifred[/name]

Good luck!

oh good suggestions!

i [name]LOVE[/name] these:
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Blythe[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Cate[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clare[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Fern[/name]

also, loving:
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Drew[/name]
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Grey[/name]–we have gray as the mn for our boy name in honor of FIL!
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jean[/name]–this could work to honor my gma too!
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Lane[/name]

i think my favorites are maisie blythe and maisie clare. thanks!!

thanks jill! i’m still working on DH to convince him to love clementine as much as i do =)

I love [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] and Maise [name]Jean[/name]/[name]June[/name]! So cute!

I associate [name]Maisie[/name] with the adorable little girl in the move Uncle [name]Buck[/name]. I think it’s charming.

Subliminal message to Rosypoesy’s husband: You [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clementine[/name]!

Take care!

do you guys think maisie anne is too “plain”? anne is a family mn on my DH’s side…which is why i was originally thinking maisie annabel. oh, and our last name is chancellor.

I love your last name! Yeah, to me, [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Anne[/name] is on the plain side, and lacks the spunk and distinctiveness of some of your other choices. (I do love [name]Anne[/name] though, but with chANcellor, I hear a lot of “an.”)

Have a good night!

What a distinguished last name! I do think that [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name] is a little plain, but the real issue for me is the repetitive AN sound in [name]Anne[/name] and [name]Chancellor[/name].

I’m so glad that you liked so many of my suggestions! I really like [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Blythe[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jean[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name], [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clare[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name], and [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Grey[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name]! I honestly like the one-syllable middle names rather than longer one - [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Clementine[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name] and [name]Maisie[/name] [name]Annabel[/name] [name]Chancellor[/name] - with your long last name and with your son’s name, [name]Beckett[/name] [name]Reed[/name]!

Best wishes!

thanks guys! i really like maisie grey and maisie jean (both mn’s after family). but what do you think of maisie west? is it too “mae west” sounding? i’m trying to find something that reminds me of my grandfather to use as the mn. and he was very much a “cowboy, wild west” kinda man. i’ll have to run these names by DH tonight…thanks!

oh, i forgot to mention. this morning DH tells me he likes maisie grace. because he knows my favorite hymn is “amazing grace”. i didn’t really know how to respond to him =)

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Grey[/name]: To me, this sounds like the singer, [name]Macy[/name] [name]Gray[/name]…
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jean[/name]: I think this is cute!
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]West[/name]: I think it’s cute, but it definitely sounds too close to [name]Maisie[/name] [name]West[/name] to me!

Some Western names that come to mind:

[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Belle[/name] (for [name]Belle[/name] [name]Starr[/name])
[name]Maisie[/name] [name]Jane[/name] (for Calamity [name]Jane[/name])

Good luck!
