Help with Alaskan Names!

So we are getting a Siberian husky and want a Alaskan name. We like the name Klondike but feel it’s not very feminine.

Also since we are AKC registering the puppy we need a middle name.

Please help us…
A new-berry in panic!

I believe you’ve posted this in the wrong thread. There’s a separate thread for pet names. As far as Alaskan names go, there’s no such thing. They are Inuit in origin, but I believe on this site, they’d be classed under ‘Native American’ (I could be wrong on what they’re listed under).

I put in this forum area due to no one being in the [name_f]Pet[/name_f] Forums!

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Kodiak[/name_f]? It’s a type of Alaskan bear, and Kodi would be a simple, concise short form for everyday use.

Regardless though, it’s in the wrong forum. A moderator will most likely move it.

I live in [name_f]Alaska[/name_f], what comes to mind is [name_u]Juneau[/name_u], Kenai, [name_m]Denali[/name_m], [name_u]McKinley[/name_u], Barrow, Nome, [name_f]Kodiak[/name_f], [name_m]Cooper[/name_m] (as in cooper landing) Cordova Sitka.

I thought of Sitka too… I think it is feminine without being girly, and very identifiable as an Alaskan-themed name.

Thank you for all of thoughts, they will all be put into consideration!

But, I love Klondike since we could call her Klhoé.

Not sure of any Alaskan names, but my friend has an American Eskimo, and she named it Inuette; which she said is an Eskimo name. I’m not sure how to spell it. It’s pronounced in-yoo-ette

[name_f]Alaska[/name_f] is a very pretty name if you ask me; that could always work. [name_u]Juneau[/name_u] is somewhere in [name_f]Alaska[/name_f] I believe.

What about the name [name_f]Star[/name_f]?
