Help with Chauncey

[name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] is the name of one of my 2nd great-grandfathers. I have always liked it, but I feel like I can never find just the right name to go with it. DH doesn’t love it, but if we found the right combo, I’m sure he’d be on board.

Can you help me make a great combo with [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] (first or middle)?

Names my husband adores (that I like or love, too):
[name_m]Ulysses[/name_m]
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m]
[name_m]Ferdinand[/name_m]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m]
[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m]
[name_m]Nicodemus[/name_m]
[name_m]Leonidas[/name_m]
[name_u]Oberon[/name_u]

Names I adore (that DH likes, but isn’t sold on):
[name_u]Taliesin[/name_u]
[name_m]Seamus[/name_m]
[name_m]Frasier[/name_m]
[name_m]Roald[/name_m]
[name_m]Rolf[/name_m]
[name_m]Nemo[/name_m]
[name_m]Algernon[/name_m]
[name_m]Ernst[/name_m]
[name_m]Linus[/name_m]

Entirely open to other suggestions along the same lines!

I feel like [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_u]Oberon[/name_u] comes closest to the right feeling, but unfortunately our last name begins with K so it is off the table based on the unfortunate initials.

I don’t know if you’d be open to [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_u]Auberon[/name_u]? Same pronunciation, but different initals. I can think of a lot of names I like with [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] that begin with O - you could try two middles to break it up, maybe?

From your lists, I really like:

[name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Rolf[/name_m]
[name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Algernon[/name_m]

[name_m]Sebastian[/name_m] [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u]
[name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [maybe]

I love the unusualness of [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] and think [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] has real ring to it.

[name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Olivier[/name_m] is indeed swoonworthy. If only…

DH doesn’t like [name_u]Auberon[/name_u], but I’ll have to see if he likes [name_m]Alaric[/name_m], [name_m]Aristotle[/name_m], or [name_m]Deveraux[/name_m], because those could be beautiful, and also [name_m]Peregrine[/name_m].

[name_f]Glad[/name_f] that [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] or [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] could potentially work. DH really loves [name_m]Atticus[/name_m] but what with its upward trajectory, I worry that it is far too trendy right now. A name like [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] seems like it would balance out the popularity, especially with brother [name_m]Horatio[/name_m] [name_m]Felix[/name_m].

Could [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Prospero[/name_m] work?

I think it might be wise to choose a middle name that doesn’t begin with a vowel, initials cak cek cik cok cuk are all kinda iffy in my mind I’m not sure at all why. So exciting though first baby. I honestly don’t love [name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] but that’s just me, it reminds me of one of the Pokemon… I have kids haha… of your husbands picks I like [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] as a middle I feel like it is very mellow and sweet together, love that name.

[name_u]Chauncey[/name_u] [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] does have a softness to it that I find appealing.
