I was handed a challenge to guess a friend’s middle name. I was allowed to ask her one “yes or no” question about it. The name begins with X, and I knew she has Chinese heritage, so I asked if it’s a Chinese name. Yes, it is.
I don’t know a lot about Chinese names, sadly. I consulted the Nameberry database, behindthename.com, and my international name book, and came up with a list of names with the initial X. My understanding is that two Chinese characters are often chosen to form a given name, so even if I get the X element right, my chance of guessing a second element is pretty small
Am I missing any names from this list? I understand some of them are 2-element names and some aren’t. Are any of these more likely than the others to be used as standalones?
