Help with Eve's full name

If all goes according to plan I will become a first time mom in late [name_u]January[/name_u] via adoption. The baby’s gender will not be known before birth. If the baby is a boy, his name will be [name_m]Conrad[/name_m] Edmore (Edmore is a family name).

For a girl, I’ve chosen [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as the first name and would like to use my mother’s name, [name_f]Joan[/name_f] for the middle name. The problem is that the last name is also one-syllable, so it would be: [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]. On one hand, I kind of like the simplicity of it, on the other I worry that the full name sounds too harsh/abrupt. She would go by [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and rarely use her middle name but I still care how the full name sounds/looks together and would like advice from the members here. Should I stick with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]? Or would it be better to add an additional middle name, if so which one?

For an idea of the type of girl names I like (that may or may not work with the [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] combo), some of my favorites are:
[name_f]Alexandra[/name_f], [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f], [name_f]Astrid[/name_f], [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], [name_f]Diana[/name_f], [name_f]Emily[/name_f], [name_f]Elodie[/name_f], [name_f]Helena[/name_f], [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Isabel[/name_f], [name_f]Isla[/name_f], [name_f]Lida[/name_f], [name_f]Lorna[/name_f], [name_f]Noelle[/name_f], [name_f]Rachel[/name_f], [name_f]Veronica[/name_f]

One final request, please let me know which order of the names sounds better? For example, which sounds/looks better, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]?

I don’t think it flows well at all. I would go with either [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f], [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f], or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f]. I think [name_f]Joanne[/name_f] could still honor your mother, and you could just call [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f] as a nickname. Personally, I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] or [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f] sound the prettiest, but [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] doesn’t work imo.

[name_f]Evelina[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]? That would be my favourite.

[name_f]Evadne[/name_f]
[name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Eva[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] the best from the list you made.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_f]Isla[/name_f] sorta runs together, but I do think it’s very pretty.

I think [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] is very pretty.
I also like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Isabel[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] or [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]. If you go the 2 middles route, I think I prefer a name starting with a vowel for flow.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Lida[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_f]Helena[/name_f]

or what about [name_f]Evie[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]? Maybe even as a combined first with nn [name_f]Eve[/name_f]?
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] is lovely, as is [name_f]Eveline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f].

[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] is gorgeous.

I’d suggest [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]…[name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f]…I think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is gorgeous paired with [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f].

Thanks to all for the feedback and ideas. I considered [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] for a time but ultimately decided on [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I do like [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] as a combo though so I’m reconsidering it. I also especially like the combos of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f].

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f]? It’s a nice way to lengthen [name_f]Joan[/name_f]. Also- have you considered using your mothers maiden or middle name? It might be a nice way to honor her as well.
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] Edmore [name_m]Smith[/name_m]- wouldn’t bother me, either, but that all depends on how you feel about using a more masculine name in the middle spot.

I suggest going with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] too. I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is too abrupt, and really doesn’t flow. Adding a second middle name doesn’t really help…
for example… [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Elodie[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is still incredibly abrupt (Same as [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]).
I would strongly suggest lengthening [name_f]Joan[/name_f]. Or maybe you could use your mother’s MN to honour her if it were something a bit longer?
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is really pretty though! [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is a bit abrupt, but if you love it, it’s ok. [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] works too, but if you don’t love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], don’t use it. If you use [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], she might (when she’s say a teenager), decide she doesn’t want to be called [name_f]Eve[/name_f], and would rather be called Liney or [name_u]Angel[/name_u] or something.
So my first choice is… [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m].
Second Choice… [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] (or preferably [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Joanne[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m])
Third Choice … [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]

I agree [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] is too abrupt. Also, remember that people are rarely called by their full name, so she would be known at school, doctor’s office, etc. as [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]. Which isn’t actually that bad, but it’s not great (as someone with an uninspiring last name, I get it!). So no matter what beautiful full name combos you come up with, remember that most people will only know her as [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m], so make sure you’re OK with that. BTW, [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is a really nice name!

As for your [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] options, I like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] better. It’s more balanced.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Anastasia[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] <3 Beautiful.

I love [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m].

There’s also [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Eveline[/name_f], [name_f]Evaline[/name_f], [name_f]Evelina[/name_f], and [name_f]Evie[/name_f].

While I like the name [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] (and the other [name_f]Eve[/name_f] variants are okay), [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is the name that I love. It’s the right first name for me to use and I am happy with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] as the name she will be known as 99% of the time. That realization alone has been very helpful to me so again I really appreciate all of the feedback.

Before I was considering [name_f]Joan[/name_f] as a middle name option, I was leaning heavily toward [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f]. Removing [name_f]Joan[/name_f] from the equation entirely, what would be a good singular middle name to go with [name_f]Eve[/name_f]? It doesn’t have to be one of the names on the list in my OP, just whatever you think sounds best.

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is lovely! I really like [name_f]Eve[/name_f] so I’m glad you’re sticking with it. It seems to flow best with a longer name ending in a:
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Susannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Isabella[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Odessa[/name_f]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f]

[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Diana[/name_f] is really pretty. Feminine without being “frilly” at all. It’s great.

My husband’s cousin named her daughter [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], followed by a one syllable middle name, a one syllable last name, and they always call her [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I think [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] sounds lovely! Or perhaps:
[name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_f]Beverly[/name_f] “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_u]Everly[/name_u] “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_u]Everest[/name_u] “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” [name_f]Joan[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]

Or maybe expand the middle name [name_f]Joan[/name_f] to one of its slightly longer forms? (I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m] sounds just fine. Not too abrupt at all!)
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Johanna[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joann[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanna[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
[name_f]Eve[/name_f] [name_f]Joanie[/name_f] [name_m]Smith[/name_m]
