I am thinking of [name]Serena[/name] or [name]Eliana[/name] as a first name. I was considering using names I like but wouldn’t use as a first name for a middle name:
[name]Allegra[/name] or [name]Gioia[/name] ([name]Joy[/name]-ah). The second I wouldn’t use as a middle name because of the pronounciation issues and because I think it might be too cutes-y as a first name.
So…[name]Serena[/name] [name]Allegra[/name], [name]Serena[/name] [name]Gioia[/name], [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Allegra[/name], or [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Gioia[/name].
I would appreciate opinions and suggestions. We would like an Italian name.
[name]Hi[/name]! I understand you wouldn’t want to use [name]Allegra[/name] as a first name, even though I know a girl by this name, because of the allergy medicine, and [name]Gioia[/name] is very confusing to pronounce. However, I have never been fond of using two names that end in -a for a combination. Also, you said you wanted an Italian name - [name]Serena[/name] is Latin and [name]Eliana[/name] is Hebrew, [name]Allegra[/name] is Latin, and only [name]Gioia[/name] is Italian. Is that okay?
If you really want Italian, you could use [name]Sarafina[/name], Saveria, or [name]Sienna[/name] instead of [name]Serena[/name] and [name]Elia[/name] or [name]Emanuele[/name] instead of [name]Eliana[/name]. My favorite Italian name is [name]Ginevra[/name].
It seems that you want a middle name meaning “joy” - both [name]Allegra[/name] and [name]Gioia[/name] seem to have this connotation. Others are Agalia, [name]Alize[/name], [name]Beatriz[/name], Lette, [name]Rowena[/name], and Saran.
Thus, my favorite names for you are [name]Serena[/name] [name]Beatriz[/name] and [name]Eliana[/name] Saran, if you want to keep those same first names, or [name]Sarafina[/name] Lette and [name]Elia[/name] [name]Beatriz[/name], with new Italian first names. Good luck!
Sorry if I wasn’t clear but I was hoping for an Italian middle name or at the very least something easily pronounced in both English and Italian (ie: [name]Allegra[/name], while Latin, would be easy for an Italian speaker to pronounce).
I like the suggestion of [name]Beatriz[/name]…or [name]Beatrice[/name]. Thanks for your input!
I still really like [name]Serena[/name] [name]Beatriz[/name] - it is beautiful and unique. Some other Italian middle names that might be pretty with [name]Serena[/name] or [name]Eliana[/name]:
[name]Serena[/name] Bellini (“little beautiful one” …aww!)
[name]Eliana[/name] [name]Capri[/name] (“Italian island”)
[name]Eliana[/name] [name]Domani[/name] (“tomorrow”)
[name]Eliana[/name] [name]Natale[/name] ("[name]Christmas[/name] or Birthday")
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Ricci[/name] (“curly-haired” - will she be curly haired?)
[name]Serena[/name] [name]Verdi[/name] (“green”)
As you know from my earlier post, I don’t like two names to end in -a, which is reflected in my choices. I like [name]Serena[/name] [name]Beatriz[/name] (Latin, “Bringer of [name]Joy[/name]”), [name]Serena[/name] Bellini (Italian, “[name]Little[/name] Beautiful One”), and [name]Eliana[/name] [name]Capri[/name] (Italian, “Italian Island”). Like any?
