Hello! Any suggestions on short, not super popular boy names?
My husband and I LOVE Wes but don’t like any longer full name versions and we aren’t sure we want to name him just “Wes”. Looking for similar short names. Our last name is one syllable. Open to middle name suggestions but IF we used Wes it would be Wes Brian (honor name). The other honor names we would use as a middle name are Lee or Warren.
Love Jack but 1. Too popular 2. We have a young family member with said name.
I like 20’s 30’s vintage sounding names without being too feminine or off the wall. TIA!
I think the name can work as just [name_m]Wes[/name_m] for sure has that vintage nickname vibe which feels fun and fashionable. [name_m]Wes[/name_m] works well with the likes of [name_u]Alfie[/name_u] and [name_u]Teddy[/name_u]. [name_m]Wes[/name_m] could also work as a nickname for [name_u]West[/name_u]. [name_u]West[/name_u] is cool.
You’ve had lots of lovely suggestions so count any repeats as me being in agreement with the berries
I think [name_m]Wes[/name_m] [name_m]Brian[/name_m] is stunning and if that’s the name you love you should absolutely go for it !

I see @Etymology mentioned [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]. You could spell it Hewes and get the “Wes” from the end.
Nameberry says of [name_m]Hughes[/name_m]:
“The name [name_m]Hughes[/name_m] is boy’s name meaning “mind, intellect; son of Aodh”.
Part of the next generation of preppy H-beginning surnames. Once [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], [name_u]Hudson[/name_u], and [name_u]Holden[/name_u] are no longer fresh, expect to hear more little boys being called [name_m]Hughes[/name_m], [name_m]Hutch[/name_m], and [name_m]Henderson[/name_m] on the playground.”
