We have one daughter: [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
We absolutely love her name and DH and I came up with it together, it fits both our styles and interests.
[name_u]Baby[/name_u] #2 is also a Girl (so thrilled to have little sisters!) but we’re struggling on a name that goes with one as unique as [name_u]Atlas[/name_u].
Some of our ideas: [name_f]Athena[/name_f] (which I think is too basic?), [name_f]Gaia[/name_f], [name_f]Kaia[/name_f], [name_f]Rhea[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f]
I like [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] a lot but have no middle name ideas. He loves [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but it’s not hitting me as THE name yet.
Help!!
Background: he’s Hispanic and I’m [name_m]German[/name_m] and we like Greek/Roman names of course but anything unusual and cute!
I love the name [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] a lot! It’s becoming one of my favorites also, might I suggest the name [name_f]Aster[/name_f]! It’s a flower name not very common but still very beautiful and goes with the name [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]. I’m also hispanic so I also prefer names with my culture like your hubby, I like the name [name_f]Esme[/name_f] [name_f]Mara[/name_f] (can be a reference to [name_f]Esmeralda[/name_f] a popular hispanic name), it flows nice when saying it in Spanish and [name_f]English[/name_f], going back to [name_f]Aster[/name_f], I was thinking [name_f]Aster[/name_f] Lume, as Lume is space related like [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], and [name_f]Aster[/name_f] flower related like [name_f]Rose[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f]/Rhea are also beautiful so [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u] is another one I thought of and [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] Arum (Arum is a flower name quite out there, but switched initials for your baby girls would be nice)
Atlas [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is very different it’s unusual to see [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] on a girl so I get why your struggling. In general naming is hard. I agree I think [name_f]Athena[/name_f] next to [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] feels predictable/basic. I do like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but I think [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] works better.
Middle names for [name_u]Genesis[/name_u]…
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Eliza[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Fleur[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Ava[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Willa[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Mia[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_u]Brooke[/name_u]
[name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
Your daughter has such an unique name!
I love [name_f]Athena[/name_f], [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and [name_f]Gaia[/name_f] from your list. [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] are too similar to [name_u]Atlas[/name_u], in my opinion.
I love the idea of using [name_u]Rain[/name_u]!! I forgot how much I liked that one. DH is not so much “hippie” but I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] [name_u]Rain[/name_u]. Maybe that’s a good compromise. Thanks!
Juno came to mind immediately. I think it’s perfect with [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]! [name_u]Lux[/name_u], which has already been suggested, also came to mind.
I love [name_f]Thea[/name_f] but I’m not sure it goes quite as well as names like [name_f]Juno[/name_f] and [name_u]Lux[/name_u]… It’s a beautiful name though.
EDIT: I just saw that [name_f]Juno[/name_f]’s already been suggested, so consider this comment a second. Another two that just came to mind are [name_f]Astrid[/name_f] and [name_f]Elowen[/name_f].
I like the suggestion of [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Ingrid[/name_f] after your mum. I will say [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] & [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] sound quite twins-y to me but I don’t know if that’s a concern at all.
The first name that popped into my head was [name_u]Vesper[/name_u]. I love the meaning (evening star) and that it has that celestial / heavenly connection with [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]. [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] ?
Other possibles…
Lumi
[name_u]Vida[/name_u]
[name_u]Vega[/name_u]
[name_f]Rilla[/name_f]
[name_u]Phaedra[/name_u]
Maelora
[name_f]Laelia[/name_f] *I like this because it is both a [name_m]Roman[/name_m] name and a flower found in Mexico/Central [name_u]America[/name_u] referencing dad’s heritage. [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Laelia[/name_f] [name_f]Star[/name_f] ?
[name_u]Zephyr[/name_u]
[name_f]Reverie[/name_f]
Atlas [name_f]Rose[/name_f] has a very cool name!
From your choices, my favorite is [name_f]Rhea[/name_f] with [name_u]Atlas[/name_u]. On its own, I would favor [name_f]Thea[/name_f].
[name_m]How[/name_m] do you feel about:
Noga
[name_f]Xanthe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lyra[/name_f]
[name_f]Alya[/name_f]
[name_f]Aster[/name_f]
[name_f]Soleil[/name_f]
[name_f]Larissa[/name_f]
[name_f]Leda[/name_f]
Maybe if you both like [name_f]Athena[/name_f] and [name_f]Thea[/name_f] is a potential, you’d like [name_f]Althea[/name_f]? Has [name_f]Thea[/name_f] and feels like a cool step up from [name_f]Athena[/name_f].
How about [name_u]Artemis[/name_u], [name_f]Ariadne[/name_f] or [name_f]Evadne[/name_f]?
I think [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] and [name_f]Evadne[/name_f] would be adorable.
Maybe with [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] more often being considered a
Boys name maybe something like [name_m]Apollo[/name_m] with the nickname [name_f]Polly[/name_f] would work for you both. There is always [name_f]Appoline[/name_f] or [name_f]Apollonia[/name_f] as well which are both gorgeous.
I do like [name_f]Thea[/name_f] big it does seem a bit uninspiring when next to [name_u]Atlas[/name_u].
Genesis is cool, maybe something like [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Ada[/name_f], [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Cora[/name_f], [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Thea[/name_f] or [name_u]Genesis[/name_u] [name_f]Viola[/name_f].
Just too let u know the name [name_f]Athena[/name_f] is being really popular now so in the next few years I don’t think it will be a unique name anymore
Atlas [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is such an amazing name! If I was naming her sister, I would go for something bold and unisex as a first name and a more familiar feminine middle, just like you’ve given [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f], to make a cohesive sibset. I’ve tried to stick with your love of Greek/Roman names, and I’ve thrown in some adventurous word names too. Here’s some ideas:
I hope these were helpful! I honestly can’t wait to hear what you choose, [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is such a stand-out name. Best of luck!
Omg [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] and [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] is perfection!!! [name_u]Atlas[/name_u] and [name_u]Vesper[/name_u] as sisters is making me swoon so hard. You nailed it!
