My husband and I both really like the name [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] (my husband’s grandmother’s brother who died young); however, we’ve come to the conclusion that it won’t work well for us as a first name in the U.S. The problem is that it is unusual enough that people have a lot of trouble remembering it or pronouncing it. We’ve had people say Taliessence etc.
So we’d like to try to use it as a middle name. Our last name is [name_m]Tucker[/name_m], so it would be _______ [name_u]Taliesin[/name_u] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m]. I’m thinking a one or two syllable first name would flow the best? Probably something not so unusual for the first name.
My sister dated a guy named that for a while. Everyone just called him [name_u]Tali[/name_u] and had no problems with it, so I don’t think you have to write it off as a first.
