DH and I are team green this go round and have both a boy and girl name picked, we’ve been set on them for WEEKS, but today I stumbled on a name unexpectedly and fell in LOVE, but DH doesn’t like it. Our previously selected boy name is Callahan Jack, and the name I stumbled on is Zimmerman… I cannot come up with a middle name that may help bring him on board so I need suggestions! Our first two children are Roman Leo and Briar Sage.

Both options are handsome! They have very different vibes to me – [name_m]Callahan[/name_m] is very down to earth, relaxed, and friendly (love the nickname [name_m]Cal[/name_m] as well!), while Zimmerman feels debonair & vintage with a bit of spunk, though he is definitely a little heavier to wear. [name_f][/name_f]In all honestly, I do think [name_m]Callahan[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is my preference, especially since he aligns a lot better with [name_m]Roman[/name_m] & [name_f]Briar[/name_f] vibe & popularity wise.

A few middle name suggestions anyway… I think you’d need something a little lighter & playful to balance out the heaviness of Zimmerman.
Are you in the US? If so, Zimmerman reminds me of the Tr@yvon [name_m]Martin[/name_m] case and I wouldn’t personally want to use it. I do like the sound.
[name_m]Callahan[/name_m] [name_m]Jack[/name_m] is the better choice. Nickname options could be CJ, [name_m]Cal[/name_m], etc. Zimmerman is a last name and infinitely [name_f]Inger[/name_f] than both sibling’s names.
Yep, I think you’re in the throes of crazy-making lust for Zimmerman but at some point, it’ll wear off. It’s a zippy sound - and a fab Aussie clothing brand - but to me is still in last name (and even now brand) territory. I would only use it if it were a family name or somehow significant - and probably then only in second spot. So I think Callahan is a much stronger option - it’s a very cool, rugged and handsome name too. But other international and/or sparkly sounding names could be:

Zimmerman is unique but for me I just struggle with kidnergarten Zimmerman trying to write his name [name_f][/name_f]. I try to look at names at all ages and stages and 4 year old Zimmerman may not appreciate the name. [name_f][/name_f]I do love the potential nickname [name_m]Manny[/name_m] though!

[name_f][/name_f] I tend to think of an Amish or Mennonite farmer in suspenders and a dusty button-up after farming all day.
