Henri

Met a woman named [name_m]Henri[/name_m]. She obviously didn’t like her name, but I did. What MN would you give a female [name_m]Henri[/name_m], and what would you name her siblings? I could envision sisters [name_m]Henri[/name_m], [name_m]Maxwell[/name_m] & [name_m]Ezra[/name_m], but the only brother name I could think of was [name_m]Ace[/name_m], because it would have to be something very different to set his name apart from the girls.

I actually like [name_m]Henri[/name_m], but only as a nickname for [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]/[name_f]Henriette[/name_f]/[name_f]Henrika[/name_f] since you never know whether your child is going to turn out super feminine or not. That said, if I had to use [name_m]Henri[/name_m] as a full name I’d use a clearly feminine middle name such as [name_m]Henri[/name_m] [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], [name_m]Henri[/name_m] [name_f]Josephine[/name_f], [name_m]Henri[/name_m] [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] etc.
[name_m]Ace[/name_m] seems much more unisex to me than [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] or [name_m]Henri[/name_m], so I’d use a name with a very masculine sound instead. Something like [name_m]Magnus[/name_m]/[name_m]Angus[/name_m], [name_m]Atlas[/name_m], [name_m]Bram[/name_m] etc.

honestly I can only envision this as a nickname for [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f]. I feel like for middles, maybe a classic, feminine name like [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] or [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], in case she’d rather use a less masculine name, and to help cut back on any confusion that may arise due to the name.

For siblings, perhaps;

[name_u]Memphis[/name_u]
[name_m]Ezra[/name_m]
[name_m]Foster[/name_m]
[name_u]Logan[/name_u]
[name_u]Ryan/name_u
[name_u]Rylan[/name_u]
[name_u]Remington[/name_u]
[name_m]Crosby[/name_m]
[name_m]Maxwell[/name_m]
[name_m]Wyatt[/name_m]
[name_u]Luca[/name_u]
[name_m]Rafferty[/name_m]
[name_m]Lawson[/name_m]
[name_m]Landon[/name_m]
[name_u]London[/name_u]

Is this pronounced like [name_m]Henry[/name_m] or is it pronounced Ahn-ree? [name_m]Henri[/name_m] is the [name_m]French[/name_m] version of [name_m]Henry[/name_m] and if I saw it on paper I’d definitely expect a [name_m]French[/name_m] boy. But I know with lots of boy names parents substitute the y for an I and call it a girl name so I’m thinking that is what’s happening here and it’s the English pronunciation?
Anyways, I know a little girl that goes by [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. It’s short for [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f] though. Her sister is named D0r0thy and goes by D0lly. If they have a boy ever they have the name 0tt0 picked out.
[name_m]Henri[/name_m] on its own I’d probably pair with names like [name_u]Drew[/name_u], [name_u]Blake[/name_u]… for a boy I could see [name_m]Wolf[/name_m], [name_m]Bear[/name_m] or [name_m]Fox[/name_m] maybe… this is so far from my style though so maybe I’m way off.

I don’t think [name_m]Henri[/name_m] is suitable for a girl, unless it’s a nickname for [name_f]Henrietta[/name_f].

I agree with this.
