I know I love the name [name]Hank[/name] but do you think it could be given alone? Would you give [name]Hank[/name] by itself or give [name]Henry[/name] and just call him [name]Hank[/name]?
[name]Henry[/name] nn [name]Hank[/name], definitely! [name]Hank[/name] is quirky and fun and cool, but I would definitely prefer to have the full, classic, timeless, quirky, charming [name]Henry[/name] to fall back on.
Good luck!
I think [name]Hank[/name] is fine by itself. I prefer [name]Henry[/name] personally. I never understood [name]Hank[/name] being a nn for [name]Henry[/name] TBH.
[name]Hank[/name] is not my style, but if you love it, I would suggest that you use it as his given name. I just don’t see the point in giving a child a “real” name that is never used and calling him or her something else.
Personally I would name him [name]Henry[/name] with nn [name]Hank[/name]. That’s just my preference.
I think [name]Hank[/name] would be a perfect nickname for a certain type of personality. But having the classic ‘[name]Henry[/name]’ as his given name allows for a bit of freedom in terms of what he would rather go by
I think [name]Hank[/name] works fine on its own but I still prefer it as a NN for [name]Henry[/name]. If I ever have a [name]Henry[/name] of my own I will not be able to resist calling him [name]Hank[/name] sometimes I have a specific personality that I see [name]Hank[/name] working for, where as I can see [name]Henry[/name] fitting so many little boys. If you are not sold on [name]Henry[/name], [name]Hank[/name] works just fine as a NN for [name]Hiram[/name] as well!
Sorry I don’t like [name]Hank[/name] at all! [name]Hendrik[/name] nn [name]Rik[/name] is great.
rollo
I think [name]Hank[/name] is fine by itself. But you can’t really go wrong with [name]Henry[/name] as a longer name.
I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Henry[/name] (have it on my list but husband says no) but not [name]Hank[/name], sorry. So I would say use [name]Henry[/name] with [name]Hank[/name] as the nn. I’m not a fan of nicknames as the main name though I’m not entirely sure why - perhaps it just seems unfinished somehow?
