I prefer it as a middle. I like that it reminds me of Much [name_f]Ado[/name_f]. But I prefer [name_f]Hera[/name_f] in general.
I love it, its such a great name. I love that it has Classical and Shakespearean ties, and that it feels feminine and badass at the same time. I’ve known 2 Heros, one was a few years ahead of me at school and the other was a very angelic looking 5 year old. I think it is a useable, albeit bold, choice.
I agree with the PPs. It does have fabulous classical and literary associations, and while it’s a very unusual and adventurous choice, it doesn’t seem too far out there. The option of using nn “[name_f]Ro[/name_f]” is also a bonus.
I like it, it’s lovely but it’s very heavy especially since it’s a masculine word nowadays.
And in the back of my mind, [name_u]Hero[/name_u] and [name_f]Hera[/name_f] have always looked a lot like Herod. I know… I just can’t get over it.
This exactly. I think most people would think [name_u]Hero[/name_u] is a boy, not a girl. Such a shame, since [name_u]Hero[/name_u] is such a cool name with tons of history, but I think [name_u]Hero[/name_u] is too GP for real use.
I quite like it, and yet…eh. I feel like it’s become a word first and a name second, and that kind of turns me off. I do like it in the middle though.
I’m all for it in the middle spot to offset a more traditionally feminine name. But it doesn’t quite feel like a name enough for me to use it as a first name.
