What do you think of this name? Is it meh? So clunky it’s cool? Ready for comeback?
Any longer name suggestions other than [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f]?

I think it’s nearing the cusp of revival! It’s an ahead of the curve choice now, but I think it might become more popular. I think it’s sweet if a little clunky.
^^100% agree! I think I prefer it as a standalone name.
Some similar names are [name_f]Matilda[/name_f]/Tilda & [name_f]Heidi[/name_f].
I agree that it is a little early but the aunt in Chilling Adventures of [name_f]Sabrina[/name_f] on Netflix is named [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] which makes it a little fresher for me
Yes Hilda! Sassy and fun! Aunt Hilda was always my favorite aunt of Sabrina’s, too
I think it could work as a nickname for Mathilda! Or at a stretch, Hilary/Hilaria, Holiday?
I’ve never seen that. Is she a character you’d want to be associated with?
I like [name_f]Hilda[/name_f]! I definitely think it will make a comeback considering [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is.
I think it’s definitely usable now and doesn’t feel dated at all (although the name is relatively new to me). There’s also the association with the graphic novel turned Netflix show [name_f]Hilda[/name_f], about a young [name_f]English[/name_f] girl living in a cool mythological world (it is for kids, but I do recommend it!)
[name_f]Swanhilda[/name_f]! Maybe [name_f]Clothilde[/name_f] as well!
It’s not for me personally, but I can see the appeal! I agree that it’s not quite at the comeback stage, still ahead of the curve.
Yes she’s a very bubbly, nice, cooking woman who takes on a motherly role to the main character.
I find [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] a little too clunky for a current comeback, but maybe in a few years she’ll gain some use. I do love the similar [name_f]Hildy[/name_f], which I think is just so sweet
My DH’s favorite name is [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] as a nickname for [name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f], so I’ve agreed to use it if we have two girls (MY fave name for the first one
) [name_f]Glad[/name_f] to hear that people think it’s usable, though I hope it doesn’t become TOO popular! The Netflix [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] is a delightful namesake which might familiarize it with the masses.
I’m not sure I like it that much, but it’s cute as a nn for [name_f]Mathilda[/name_f], even if it’s pronounced differently.
Same here! I love [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] (the name and the aunt). Definitely ‘so clunky it’s cool’ vibes. ![]()
I like [name_f]Hilda[/name_f]. Rugged and charming! I quite like it on it’s own.
Mathilda nn [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] maybe?

This is my first association now, she’s a great character!
I like [name_f]Hilda[/name_f]. As others have said, it’s now feeling clunky-cool, rather than just clunky, and [name_f]Hildie[/name_f] is adorable. I personally prefer [name_f]Tilda[/name_f], but [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] is a great choice.
Yes! Yes! Yes!
I love [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] and -hilda names. It gives a strong feel to me. So clunky it’s cool. Probably won’t make a comeback in very near future, but I can see it getting stylish in a few years.
Hilda is cute.
I’ve grown to really like [name_f]Hilda[/name_f]! I also like variants, like [name_f]Hildegarde[/name_f], [name_f]Swanhilda[/name_f], though I like [name_f]Brinhilda[/name_f] more than [name_f]Brunhilda[/name_f]. Like others, I associate it with the [name_f]Hilda[/name_f] from netflix and the original graphic novel it’s based on. If possible, you may want to check one of the shows that have been mentioned on this thread to see how you like the sound in everyday use.
