Does [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] strike you as masculine of feminine? I know it can go either way.

i feel like it’s more common for girls because of its similarity with [name_u]Holly[/name_u] but i actually really like it for a little boy❤️

I don’t really like [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] and I am not sure why. I prefer [name_u]Holly[/name_u] (even for a boy).

I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]. It’s got a soft sound, but it’s masculine to me. [name_u]Holly[/name_u] for a girl and [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] for a boy.

I see it as the masculine version of [name_u]Holly[/name_u], I find it a little… not right, on a girl. Not sure why.

I defintiely think of it as a girl’s name- but that could be because the only time I’ve ever seen it was on a female book character.

Because I know a girl whose parents were thinking of naming her [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] nn [name_u]Holly[/name_u] it strikes me as feminine, but I can see it going either way.

I really like [name_u]Hollis[/name_u], and prefer it for a boy. I think it works well as a girls name, but as a girls name, it’s just ok to me, whereas on a boy I see it as being very handsome and charming!

I don’t mind it on either but I see it as more masculine. [name_u]Holly[/name_u] is definitely feminine.

I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u]! I like it equally for boys and girls, but I immediately think girl when I hear it. But I think it’s a very gender neutral name.

It’s a surname name, so naturally it leans more masculine for me, much like [name_u]Ellis[/name_u]. I actually love it and prefer it for a boy! It’s a great choice. :slight_smile:

First instinct is it sounds more masculine, but I could feasibly see it on either.

I think it’s totally gender neutral. I personally prefer it for a girl but it’s on my list for both.

I love [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] on a boy. [name_m]Can[/name_m]’t stand it on a girl.

Hollis feels completely neutral to me, I really like it for a girl but don’t have a problem with it on a boy either. If I knew someone had had a baby [name_u]Hollis[/name_u] I wouldn’t automatically assume either gender.
