looking for the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the name [name_u]Elliot/name_u (on a boy). No right or wrong opinions here, just curious. I’m torn about this name and my family is split on the name so not a lot of help there either lol
I really like [name_u]Eliot[/name_u] (or however you want to spell it). I think of a little boy with tasteful parents. Background association of the boy in the movie ET, but that’s not overpowering for me.
I like it! Still reminds me of the little boy from ET.
[name_u]Elliott[/name_u] is one of my favourite names, it’s actually my first big name love. I love how it’s fun and quirky for a little boy but still mature enough for an adult; it feels current but still has a long history of usage.
I really like the E.T. and [name_m]Pete[/name_m]'s Dragon associations, still there are enough real-life adult Elliotts out there to balance those, to some, “childish” associaitons out.
Personally, I also love the nicknames that come with [name_u]Elliott[/name_u], wether it’s [name_f]El[/name_f], [name_m]Lio[/name_m], [name_m]Otto[/name_m], etc. there’s a variety of nicknames one could get from [name_u]Elliott[/name_u].
Generally I prefer the -tt version, I think it looks more balanced and mature, also more traditional (along the lines of [name_m]Bennett[/name_m] and [name_m]Beckett[/name_m], [name_u]Emmett[/name_u], [name_u]Everett[/name_u], etc., most boys’ names seem to end in two Ts rather than one), however, if you prefer very (short,) youthful and modern sounding names, say [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Ivy[/name_f], [name_u]Theo[/name_u], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] fits in well, too.
I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] (with one t)! It’s one of my favorite boy names!
It’s one of my favorites! My daughter would have been [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] if she were a boy. My husband insists it looks terrible unless unless it has two t’s.
I love [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] on a boy I don’t think of it as a girl name.
It’s a great name and I don’t think it needs nicknames to be wearable but there’s a few you could create if you wanted. I don’t think the name would sound trendy on a kid or would it seem outdated.
I do briefly think of both [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] Stabler from [name_m]Law[/name_m]&Order SVU and [name_u]Elliot[/name_u] Alderson from Mr Robot and wouldn’t think of the kid from ET unless pointed out like above, but that doesn’t really effect my opinion on the wearer of said name or the name itself.
I love the name [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]! It’s such a nice name!
I think of a sweet, fair skinned boy with brown hair playing in a meadow with a kite. I see rolling green hills, trees in the distance, a bright blue sky, a picnic laid out. I see a lovely image with this name.
it’s funny how the spelling can change the feeling of a name so easily — i don’t really care for [name_m]elliot[/name_m]/t, i think it’s a bit too traditional. but i really like [name_m]eliot[/name_m], as in t. s. [name_m]eliot[/name_m]; that’s really cool! maybe it’s the writer in me or something. it’s not a name generally that i feel strongly about one way or the other, but i much prefer the surname version.
