I’m starting to consider the name [name]Genevieve[/name]…now I’ve never really noticed it before because usually my taste in names is pretty well…never in the top 1000. But I still love it! I’m considering putting [name]Genevieve[/name] on my name list.
But I’m curious as to what you guys think of it. What do you honestly think of [name]Genevieve[/name]? [name]Do[/name] you think you would need a nickname for [name]Genevieve[/name]? What images to you get?
And my big questions:
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Genevieve[/name] will become more popular than it already is now?
[name]How[/name] many girls do you know (under the age of 8) named [name]Genevieve[/name]?
[name]Do[/name] you think I should be concerned about [name]Genevieve[/name]'s popularity?
I think it’s one of the most beautiful girl names of all time. Plus I think the nn [name]Ginny[/name] would be so cute.
I don’t see it becoming as popular as [name]Emma[/name] and company. I could see it in the top 100 or 50 one day though. [name]Don[/name]'t think it will ever exceed into the top 20 or even 25 though.
None with the actual name. Only name close is [name]Geneva[/name].
I think [name]Genevieve[/name] is absolutely lovely, and has wonderful nickname options wrapped up in a very elegant package. I see [name]Genevieve[/name] as beautiful and intelligent, graceful, yet warm and endearing. She’s also a cute cute little girl in her younger years.
It’s always impossible to say, but barring any big celebrity boost, I don’t think it’s poised to jump.
I know one 7-year-old, nn [name]Gena[/name].
No, I don’t think you should be concerned. It’s familiar and known, but it’s not very common… at least in my personal experience.
i think it is very pretty - it was on my list at some point. i do like longer names with no nickname but this is one of the few that i like the longer form as well as the nickname evie. i know one [name]Genevieve[/name] that is ~65 and she goes by gene which i think is just terrible. i think there was a genevieve on one of the home makeover shows i used to watch. she went by genevieve on the show as opposed to a nickname. like some others have said, i don’t think you should be concerned with it becoming too popular, i think its an attractive name so you never know but that would be impossible to predict at this point and right now it is pretty rare although a known name.
What do you honestly think of [name]Genevieve[/name]? I love it. It’s so pretty.
[name]Do[/name] you think you would need a nickname for [name]Genevieve[/name]? No, I love [name]Genevieve[/name] full. If you want a nn [name]Evie[/name] is my fav.
What images to you get? An adorable curly haired girl with lots of personality
And my big questions:
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Genevieve[/name] will become more popular than it already is now? Yes, but it’s not going to be a huge jump
[name]How[/name] many girls do you know (under the age of 8) named [name]Genevieve[/name]? I know 1 little girl who is 3
[name]Do[/name] you think I should be concerned about [name]Genevieve[/name]'s popularity? Nope
I think it’s a steady classic that won’t gain unless a celebrity turns up who has it.
I don’t know a single one. I’ve only heard of a handful, all adults
no
It’s a beautiful name. Classy and classic but different and fun with a lot of potential, though it will be hard for people to spell since it’s so long. People tend to have a hard time with names longer than 6 letters for whatever reason.
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Genevieve[/name] will become more popular than it already is now?
I think it has a good chance of getting popular, I don’t think it will become top 50 popular or even top 100 popular.
[name]How[/name] many girls do you know (under the age of 8) named [name]Genevieve[/name]?
My little sister had a [name]Genevieve[/name] in her first grade class, but I’ve never met her.
[name]Do[/name] you think I should be concerned about [name]Genevieve[/name]'s popularity?
Nope.
[name]Genevieve[/name] is on my list; I think it’s extremely pretty and mature, yet accessible with various nicknames. My favorite is [name]Evie[/name]. I think since it’s still in the ‘revival phase’, there are still plenty of people that are going to say it’s out of date, ugly, grandmotherish, etc, while others say it’s new, fresh, girly, etc. I would say that it’s those clashing opinions that will keep [name]Genevieve[/name] from being too popular. However, like pp said, it’s pretty much impossible to predict name trends. But for right now, i think [name]Genevieve[/name] has the best qualities a girl’s name can have- feminine, mature, yet workable for a child, rare, but familiar. I think it’s a winner!
When I try to think of a deeply beautiful, feminine name, [name]Genevieve[/name] is always the first name to pop into my head. I honestly don’t know how popular it will get, it’s gorgeous and I could see it getting more popular for sure (it’s the first name to pop into my head when I try to think of what very feminine fashionable celebs would name a daughter), but maybe the “[name]Gen[/name]” part will keep it from going too high because this generation of moms grew up with [name]Jennifer[/name] as the #1 trendiest name. I think it’s a lot richer and more lush sounding than the trendiest girl names now. [name]Ava[/name] and [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Sophia[/name] all are pretty and feminine but in a lighter way. I personally don’t know a single girl named [name]Genevieve[/name]. [name]How[/name] concerned you are about [name]Genevieve[/name]'s popularity is totally up to you. I’m phobic of anything even remotely popular, but I know I’m kind of sick about it!
