Honest Opinions On Nevaeh?! šŸ¤”

What are your honest opinions on [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f]? I’ve noticed that it’s a pretty controversial and hated name here on Nameberry and on other baby naming websites. Personally, I don’t really like it, and I think that it’s a little kitschy and tacky, but I don’t hate it. What do you think?!

I like it in theory, but I have no idea how to say it and it looks ugly to me…

Yeah, I agree! It does sounds very tacky to me!

I think that you pronounce it Neh-VAY-[name_m]Ah[/name_m].

It doesn’t sound very heavenly :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I would love a name that’s an anagram of heaven but has a nice spelling that makes more sense to me!

not my personal style but i don’t think it deserves the hate it gets. Sound-wise i think it’s pretty.

I think it has a pretty, breathy sound! It’s not my style, but I don’t think it deserves the hate it gets.

Neveah isn’t my style but I think it’s sweet.

I don’t like [name_f]Neveah[/name_f] because I know a horrible person with that name, but I actually think it’s kind of cute.

It just looks and sounds off to me. It’s origins are also quite cheesy.

I don’t actually mind it, but I probably wouldn’t use it myself.

I think it is quite beautiful sounding, but it’s a bit tacky in my opinion. I don’t hate the idea of [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] spelt backward, [name_f]Vanessa[/name_f] is an anagram as well, but people seem to really hate the spelling, I like it. But, as [name_f]English[/name_f] isn’t my native language it was hard to figure out how to pronounce it, but once I did, I loved it. I would never use it, but it’s better than [name_f]Heaven[/name_f], [name_u]Angel[/name_u] and [name_u]Haven[/name_u].

It’s not my style but I would caution against others using it because of the hate and reputation it has.

I understand the appeal sound wise, and would never discourage a mother who loved it from using it as there’s really nothing ā€˜wrong’ with it (other than pronunciation isn’t the most clear, but nevaeh definitely isn’t the only name in that category) it’s just not my style

I like the sound but not the look of it.

So I have a strong dislike (almost hatred) for names like [name_u]Haven[/name_u], [name_f]Heaven[/name_f], or [name_f]Heavenly[/name_f]. I know we all want good things for our kids, but names like this, imo, amplify any mistakes or bad choices they make in their life.

I think [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] allows a parent to include ā€œheavenā€ in the meaning of the name, while not putting this heavy weight on their kid.

I hate it. I always get the feeling people think it is cuter and more clever than it actually is.

Having said that, I’d support someone if they felt really strongly about using the name and I wouldn’t hold it against someone with the name. I just wouldn’t use it.

I still don’t have the faintest idea how to pronounce it. I’ve never met one and it looks to me like [name_u]Nev[/name_u]-a -ay?

I love [name_f]Geneva[/name_f] and [name_f]Neva[/name_f], but [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] is to me most unattractive. Writing things backwards also strikes me as odd.

I love [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f] personally. I think it’s sweet, and since [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] and [name_f]Heavenly[/name_f] are so often branded as cheesy/tacky, I feel like I should be able to have one option that isn’t [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]/Celine (dislike both) but shares the same meaning. :woman_shrugging:t3: I just feel very conflicted as I love [name_f]Nevaeh[/name_f], [name_f]Heaven[/name_f] and [name_f]Heavenly[/name_f] but feel almost forced on name sites to like, or say that I like [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] or [name_f]Celine[/name_f] more as they’re more ā€œacceptableā€.
