Hello!
I think we have decided on the name Greer for either gender for our surprise baby number 4. The middle name for a girl we want to use is Kathryn after my grandma’s mother.
If it’s an honor name should I use the exact spelling of the name ?. I think I have to and I have to just deal with it, but I just much prefer the Catherine or even Katherine spelling. Thoughts? Also thoughts on Greer? I received good feedback in the baby name forum, but I always love more. Greer Kathryn for a girl and Greer William for a boy.
Since you like [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] and [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] better, I would go with [name_u]Greer[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_u]Greer[/name_u] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f]. I personally prefer [name_u]Greer[/name_u] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] because it looks better written out.
[name_u]Greer[/name_u] [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] is really pretty! I love [name_u]Greer[/name_u] on a girl so much.
I don’t think you have to you that spelling if you don’t want to. Personally, I would use the same spelling, but if you really dislike it, I would probably do [name_u]Greer[/name_u] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] because at least it keeps K.
If you like the other spellings better, in my opinion they work equally well! The intention is there, after all.
[name_u]Greer[/name_u] is cute!
To me, [name_f]Kathryn[/name_f] is the same name as [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Catherine[/name_f], and therefore, the honour is still the same [name_m]Even[/name_m] names like [name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] would work imo as theyre all forms of the same name!
I think of it as a female name, but it is nice either way. A most underappreciated name in my book. I would spell [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] however you like.
I think using [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] if you prefer those spellings is absolutely fine
