Honor/Nicknames for Harrison

Help! Husband and I have come to the agreement that baby boy #1 will be named in honor of our grandfathers, [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] and [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m]. [name_m]Both[/name_m] are family names that have been passed down for generations–[name_m]Mansfield[/name_m] is my fathers middle, as was his father, as was his uncle, etc. and, since I have no brothers, it’s important for me to use it. [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] is obviously the more wearable of the two and therefore lands the first-name slot, but I am personally not a fan of the nickname “[name_m]Harry[/name_m].”

Does anyone have other nicknames suggestions for [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]? This could include firstborn (son) nicknames, variations on the word, etc. I’m also open to other name options that would honor [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] without using it exactly, as it’s become an increasingly popular name (not necessarily my style). Last name is [name_u]West[/name_u], like the direction.

I’d appreciate any feedback

[name_m]Harris[/name_m]? Or just H as my nephew often gets x

[name_m]Harris[/name_m], is the more obvious nickname here
You could also use [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]?
[name_m]Henry[/name_m] would come from that, or [name_m]Hank[/name_m].
More of a stretch, but would still be acceptable, would be other “H” nicknames…
[name_m]Huck[/name_m], [name_m]Hawk[/name_m], [name_m]Heath[/name_m], [name_u]Hunter[/name_u], [name_m]Harvey[/name_m]?
Perhaps, something that can easily been related to the name [name_m]Harrison[/name_m]?
Like [name_m]Ford[/name_m]?
Or The President [name_m]William[/name_m] [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], was nicknamed [name_m]General[/name_m] Mum, perhaps you can call him [name_m]General[/name_m]?
Maybe something from a [name_m]George[/name_m] [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] song?

More of a stretch…but still with in reason…(a bit of a mispronunciation…but still)
[name_u]Reese[/name_u] (for Har-RIS-son)?
[name_u]Rhys[/name_u] is often pronounced Riss…?
Or Riston for that matter…

[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m]…
You could call him HM?
[name_m]Harman[/name_m]/[name_m]Harmon[/name_m]?
[name_m]Field[/name_m] or [name_m]Fielder/name_m?
[name_m]Manny[/name_m]?

He could go by the nickname of [name_u]West[/name_u], since it is your last name…

Hmm…

I agree with the poster below [name_m]Ace[/name_m], is a good option as well…

[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m] sounds very handsome! I’m not sure if these are any more appealing than [name_m]Harry[/name_m], but I think you could use [name_m]Ace[/name_m], [name_u]Sonny[/name_u], and [name_m]Manny[/name_m] as nicknames.
[name_f]Edit[/name_f]: [name_m]Ah[/name_m], the person above posted as I was typing, and they mentioned [name_u]Sonny[/name_u] and [name_m]Manny[/name_m] as well. Sorry for the repetition! I also agree that [name_u]West[/name_u] or [name_m]Wes[/name_m] could be cute as nicknames.

Thank you all! [name_m]Ace[/name_m] is one we’ve been considering, as well as [name_m]Harris[/name_m]. My fear would be to call him [name_m]Harrison[/name_m], just because I think that very easily becomes [name_m]Harry[/name_m], or “Hair.” I’d rather nip that in the bud from the get-go and call him something different, reserving [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m] for his resume (wouldn’t that look sharp?).

You’re all so creative! I love [name_u]Rhys[/name_u] (also on my baby name list! Ha!), I love [name_m]Ford[/name_m], [name_m]Hawk[/name_m], [name_m]Fielder[/name_m], and [name_m]General[/name_m] (a little lengthy but funny, because my maiden name is [name_u]Morgan[/name_u], and his grandfather on my side has decided to be called “[name_m]Captain[/name_m]” rather than Grandpa).

You’ve given me a lot to go on! Keep’em coming!

[name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m] is dashing. None of the Harrisons I know use nicknames, but I do like the idea of calling him something unrelated to his given name. [name_m]Hawk[/name_m] is pretty cool.

I was thinking of [name_m]Harris[/name_m] and [name_u]Sonny[/name_u]. As pp said I also don’t know anyone called [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] who use nicknames and I also think [name_m]Harrison[/name_m] [name_m]Mansfield[/name_m] [name_u]West[/name_u] would be lovely!
