[name_m]Hi[/name_m], all. My uncle, who I was really close to, passed away in [name_u]December[/name_u] at the age of 36. I would really like to honor him in some way. I’d realize it be easier if I were having a boy, but I’d like to honor him no matter the gender. His name first and middle is [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] Legrand. (luh-grand.) His middle name is a passed down family name.
Anyways I’d like suggestions on honoring him. I don’t like [name_f]Christina[/name_f] or [name_f]Christin[/name_f]. I like [name_f]Christiana[/name_f] somewhat as a middle name. Some names on my list are [name_f]Annesley[/name_f], [name_u]Delaney[/name_u], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f], and [name_f]Liliana[/name_f]. Those are front runners. I tossed around [name_f]Annesley[/name_f] Legrand but it feels too masculine. Any ideas? I like two middle names but nothing seems to flow right with legrand.
Firstly, I would Google search for variations of the name [name_f]Christine[/name_f] first, I know there are tons more options than just [name_f]Christina[/name_f]/ [name_f]Christine[/name_f].
If you can’t find any other variations you prefer that fit better with your first name choices, maybe consider honoring him with a different name rather than his given name for a girl and saving his names for a boy.
Ideas on how to honor him without using his name:
His birth month/ flower/ color/ stone
A name that relates to a passion (ex: for my father I would use musical related names to honor him as that’s his profession and passion)
A name that you know he loved
Think about qualities you loved about him, was he kind, thoughtful, brave etc and then search for names with those meanings
His favorite animal, for example if he really loved birds you could use the name [name_f]Mavis[/name_f] which means “song bird”
Use a name of a character/ person he admired
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Christabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_u]Tristan[/name_u] - I know it’s a boys name, but I think with [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] and with the feminine feel that it sounds good
[name_f]Annesley[/name_f] [name_f]Allegra[/name_f] - has the beginning of Legrand
thenameprincess has some really good ideas. I would like to the add the possibility of naming your daughter a name that has a similar meaning to [name_m]Christopher[/name_m]'s. [name_m]Christopher[/name_m] means “bearer of [name_m]Christ[/name_m].” Here are some names with similar meanings:

[name_f]Krista[/name_f] would make a nice middle name with any of your first name options.
[name_u]Krishna[/name_u] I wouldn’t use unless you want people to connect the name to hare krishna.
Did your uncle have a nickname that might be usable?
