Honoring Colleen

so theres is this really special woman in my life named Colleen, she’s like a second mom to me and has given me some amazing pieces of wisdom I will carry with me forever. however, though I love her name, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to use it due to some connections to famous people.

here are my ideas:

Cordelia. starts the same so I think it would be cute with the nickname Dee, I would use Coco but she’s gonna be Grandma Coco to my kids.

Dolly. her mothers name is Dorothy and she said if she ever had a daughter she would want to honor her mom.

Paulina. Paul is a family name for her, it was her dads name and her brothers middle name, she never had kids and neither did her brother so I kinda want to use it.

Marilyn. at her husbands 20 year reunion we pranked his school by Colleen pretending to be her husband, her best friend being her “wife” and I was their kid. we said my name was Marilyn after Marilyn Manson.

[name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] feels really special to me because you have a whole story about it, I like [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] too! I think since (as far as you’ve said) you don’t have a connection with her family members mentioned, the names don’t seem as connected to her for me as [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] & [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] do

[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] and [name_f]Paulina[/name_f] both seem like sweet connections to me! Based on sound/look, I will also suggest [name_f]Colette[/name_f] to you!

[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] → sweet and bright. It’s could the Co beginning and the ‘ee’ and ‘lee’ sounds too

[name_f]Dolly[/name_f] → pretty cute! I’d probably use it as a middle/nickname but it is lovely (and my dad works with a grown up Dolly)

[name_f]Paulina[/name_f] → bright and classic at the same time,

[name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] → cute name and fun story to tell one day.

A couple of ideas:

[name_u]Cailin[/name_u], [name_f]Cailyn[/name_f], [name_f]Kaylin[/name_f], [name_f]Caylin[/name_f], [name_f]Kailyn[/name_f] → [name_f]Colleen[/name_f] comes for the [name_u]Irish[/name_u] word cailín, meaning girl (which could link to [name_f]Caitlyn[/name_f] too)

[name_f]Lina[/name_f] / [name_f]Lena[/name_f] → from the end sound

[name_f]Colette[/name_f] → same start

[name_f]Nicole[/name_f] → ending same as start

[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]! [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f] is also subtle with a story behind it, so it gets my vote as well.

How about:
[name_u]Ollie[/name_u]
[name_f]Colette[/name_f]
[name_f]Cosette[/name_f]
[name_f]Aileen[/name_f] / [name_f]Eileen[/name_f]
[name_f]Kathleen[/name_f] / [name_f]Cathleen[/name_f]

[name_f]Paulina[/name_f] is the cutest pick on the list.

[name_f]Collette[/name_f] could be like a little [name_f]Colleen[/name_f].

[name_f]Leena[/name_f] [name_m]Cole[/name_m] I think might also work

I really like [name_f]Collette[/name_f], but it’s to much like [name_f]Colleen[/name_f]

[name_f]Colleen[/name_f] just screams baby boomer!
However, there are other options out there.
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dorothy[/name_f] [name_f]Paulina[/name_f]
And
[name_f]Paulina[/name_f] [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
Are my best recommendations given your preferences.

she was actually born in the late 70s

Then if she’s deceased, she died tragically young!
