Looking for a creative way to honor my grandmother “[name]Irene[/name]” in a girls baby name. I am not the most creative person so I am hoping for some help from you guys. This will be used as a middle name.
If anyone has any suggestions my husband and I would be forever grateful!!
[name]Irene[/name] is pretty! I also love the Russian [name]Irina[/name]. If you’re open to more out-there virtue names, what about [name]Peace[/name], too? [name]Irene[/name]/[name]Irina[/name] means “peace.”
[name]Eirene[/name] is the original form for [name]Irene[/name], I believe.
I think [name]Irene[/name] is a very pretty name also and it is my Grandmother’s name, too… Her name is [name]Lillian[/name] [name]Irene[/name] and I have always loved it:-)
Well since [name]Irene[/name] means peace perhaps a name with the same meaning will be a way to honor [name]Irene[/name]?
[name]Dove[/name]
[name]Nitsa[/name]
Chessa
[name]Axelle[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Rena[/name]
Perhaps [name]Rena[/name], or could stretch this to [name]Wren[/name].
Names that also mean [name]Peace[/name]:
[name]Axelle[/name] (french)
[name]Pax[/name]/[name]Paz[/name] (Latin/Spanish)
[name]Salome[/name] (Hebrew)
[name]Tullia[/name] (irish)
Spaloma (Spanish for dove that symbolises [name]Peace[/name])
Honoring family is such a fabulous idea, and i managed to do it with all of my kids. Finding a way to honour [name]Irene[/name] should be no problem!
My first immediate thought was [name]Iris[/name], and then the lovely [name]Ren[/name]ée
You could use international variations on [name]Irene[/name] such as [name]Rena[/name], [name]Ira[/name], Erini etc, but my favorite suggestion is found above, by using Irenes meaning of “peace”
[name]Dove[/name] - kudos Diannaelaine - love this idea!
[name]Livia[/name]/[name]Olivia[/name] - coming from the olive branch which denotes peace
[name]Malina[/name] - peace
[name]Mira[/name] - wonderful, peace & prosperous
[name]Paxton[/name] - peace town
[name]Shalom[/name] - peace
[name]Shiloh[/name] - peace
