Honouring Lorna?

[name]How[/name] could I honour a [name]Lorna[/name], without using [name]Lorna[/name]? Would any Lor-name work? Can you think of some? [name]Lorna[/name] doesn’t have any real meaning, being a created name, so I can’t use a name that means the same thing. Any ideas welcome!

What about [name]Lauren[/name]?

[name]Lorelei[/name]
[name]Leonora[/name]
[name]Eleanor/name

I love [name]Lorelei[/name]!

Other ideas:
Lorian
[name]Lordes[/name]
Alora

I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lorna[/name]! I would certainly use that! I think you could take the meaning from other Lor/Laur names. Lack of meaning is better than a bad meaning to me. If you won’t consider [name]Lorna[/name], how about:

[name]Lenore[/name]
[name]Leona[/name]
[name]Laura[/name]
[name]Loryn[/name]

[name]Lorna[/name] would still be my vote! Might have to add that one to my list!

I agree, boyandgirl, [name]Lorna[/name] is lovely!!

[name]Lorraine[/name] with the nickname [name]Raine[/name] / [name]Rainey[/name]

I can’t believe no one has suggested [name]Lorena[/name]!

I vote for [name]Leonora[/name] - I love it. Or even [name]Eleonora[/name]. I think [name]Nora[/name] is a cute nn - and [name]Leo[/name] would be cute, too! I don’t like [name]Lorna[/name] - seems very middle-aged woman to me.

What about [name]Lenora[/name]? [name]Lenore[/name]? [name]Leona[/name]/[name]Liora[/name]/[name]Leora[/name]/[name]Eliora[/name]? I think [name]Lorna[/name] and [name]Lenora[/name]/[name]Liora[/name] would be great options, but I like the fuller [name]Eliora[/name], personally.

Good luck!

I like [name]Lorna[/name]. And really like the previous berry’s suggestion of [name]Lorena[/name]! Another name I have been considering to honor my mother [name]Laura[/name] and [name]MIL[/name] [name]Kathleen[/name] is [name]Loreen[/name]. Maybe it appeals to you…

Oh… [name]Lorenza[/name] and [name]Loretta[/name]! I love [name]Loretta[/name]!

So many great suggestions! I will have to wade through them better when I am not posting on my phone!!!
As for just using [name]Lorna[/name], I could, I am not horribly opposed to it, but as someone said, I just picture someone middle-aged or older! (It would be to honour my Fiances Grandmother! A wonderful spunky 65+ woman!)

[name]Lorna[/name] is not just an old lady name! My 8-year-old daughter is named [name]Lorna[/name] and it suits her perfectly. I think is definitely usable and it is due for a come back. To me, it has the perfect combination of being unique without being yuneek and feminine without being frilly.

I think that [name]Laurel[/name] is a good choice, [name]Caroline[/name] [name]Laurel[/name].

My first thought was to use [name]Nora[/name]. If you drop the L, and put the N out front…well, I admit, it might be a little bit of a stretch!
