Honouring Robert

Hi berries,

I’m curious how would you honour Robert/Bob for a girl? Not a fan of Roberta and we have another family member named Bobby.

So far I have considered:
Robbie - Think Margot Robbie. I like that it has that old school nickname feel like Billie, Stevie, Frankie, etc.
Ro/Rowe - I like Ro but don’t know if it seems incomplete
Bo - I’ve loved this since the little girl in Signs but not DH’s fave

Please let me know any of your thoughts or suggestions. Middle name ideas bonus

Thanks, x

[name_f]Ramona[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or [name_m]Rowe[/name_m]
[name_f]Rowena[/name_f] - nn [name_m]Rowe[/name_m]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Ro[/name_f]
[name_u]Rowan[/name_u]/[name_u]Rowen[/name_u] -nn [name_f]Ro[/name_f] or [name_m]Rowe[/name_m]
[name_f]Robyn[/name_f] - nn [name_f]Ro[/name_f] (also has the same meaning as [name_m]Robert[/name_m])

I think any name starting with [name_f]RO[/name_f] can easily get you to the [name_f]Ro[/name_f]/[name_m]Rowe[/name_m] nn.

I quite like [name_u]Robin[/name_u]. What about [name_u]Robin[/name_u] or [name_f]Berta[/name_f]? Both are slightly dated but still nice names.

Since [name_m]Robert[/name_m] means “bright fame”, you could use a name with a similar meaning to honor a [name_m]Robert[/name_m]. Some options are [name_f]Clotilde[/name_f] (“fame in battle”), Jaswinder (“fame”), [name_f]Romilda[/name_f] ("famous battle), [name_f]Rosa[/name_f]/Roswitha (“fame”) and [name_f]Rowena[/name_f] (“famous joy”).

I like [name_u]Bo[/name_u] from your ideas! [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_f]Rowena[/name_f], and [name_f]Ramona[/name_f] from pps are great suggestions too

[name_u]Bo[/name_u] [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], [name_u]Bo[/name_u] [name_f]Lillian[/name_f], [name_u]Bo[/name_u] [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] came to mind for middles.
Also [name_f]Ro[/name_f] [name_f]Adelaide[/name_f], [name_f]Ro[/name_f] [name_f]Azalea[/name_f] and [name_f]Ro[/name_f] [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f]

Some ideas (might be more of a stretch)

[name_f]Ree[/name_f] [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f]

[name_u]Bertie[/name_u] (maybe with a really girly middle - [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f], [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f], [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] [name_f]Florence[/name_f])

[name_f]Betty[/name_f] (if [name_u]Bertie[/name_u]/[name_u]Bert[/name_u] works, maybe [name_f]Betty[/name_f]? [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Luella[/name_f]? [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Ramona[/name_f]? [name_f]Betty[/name_f] [name_f]Rosamund[/name_f]?

[name_f]Betsy[/name_f] (from the [name_u]Bert[/name_u] part again)

[name_f]Etta[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]

I love [name_u]Robbie[/name_u]

I like [name_u]Robbie[/name_u] the best. [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] and Bobsey are cute too but I think [name_u]Robbie[/name_u] is the best.

For me, an honour name doesn’t need to be directly related to the original name but I like it to share some of the same sounds or letters. I’d love to know if any stand out for you.

Continuing along the lines of [name_u]Bertie[/name_u], you could use [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] from your signature or [name_f]Bernice[/name_f], [name_f]Beretta[/name_f] and [name_f]Beryl[/name_f]. For R’s I’m thinking [name_u]Ruby[/name_u], [name_f]Rheta[/name_f], [name_f]Rebecca[/name_f] and [name_f]Ruth[/name_f]. [name_f]Bronte[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwen[/name_f] and [name_u]Brooke[/name_u] could also work as a take on [name_u]Bobby[/name_u].

I love [name_u]Bo[/name_u] too!You can use any of the following and you could Nn her [name_u]Bo[/name_u], and daddy can call her by her first name!
[name_u]Robin[/name_u], Robline or Roberah, Bobella, Bolene, Bobene

I know I already commented but I just thought of [name_f]Rosetta[/name_f] maybe?

Also, [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] (like [name_u]Robbie[/name_u] and similar in sound to the related name, [name_m]Rupert[/name_m]), and [name_f]Birdie[/name_f] (like [name_u]Bertie[/name_u] but behind the name lists it as a feminine form and I know it’s on your list already) might work

I love the name [name_u]Bo[/name_u] from your list, and I also really like [name_f]Robyn[/name_f]/[name_u]Robin[/name_u] that was suggested! I think the most important thing with an honor name is that it sounds just enough like the original to remind you of it, but doesn’t need to be the exact same thing (example, I called [name_f]Alexandra[/name_f] “[name_u]Zandy[/name_u]” and so when I got my first kitten, I named her “[name_f]Candy[/name_f]” as an honor name.)
