[name_m]Franz[/name_m] is underrated.
well at least you donāt pronounce it as beat-rice, right? I see it more as Bea-trice. Imagine the world if Beatrice was actually beat-riceā¦
idk at this point i just wanna help and save a name here⦠oh and also say the things in my mind
Hot take: Gertrude is actually nice, especially with her nicknames. Sure, itās impossible to imagine a little Gertrude, but a little Trudie??
This for me as well, though I may be biased because itās personal. Iām Jack and my only brother is John āJohnny.ā I actively chose to be Jack (Iām the older brother, but I changed my name), knowing full well itās a John derivative, though for me Jack is my not-instinctive nickname for something else that is not John or a John derivative. The association doesnāt bother me. I actually like it because our late father is John. I get why shared origin might be an issue for some, but Iād never try to dissuade people from doing it and I definitely agree most people wouldnāt notice unless it was literally something like Edward and Edwin.
Which, funnily enough, wouldnāt even have the same meaning but would feel a lot closer than Elizabeth & Isabelle, for example.
Yuri & Jordi could be (unlikely) brothers and no one would bat an eye at them both being āGeorgeā.
Itās really not much of a problem, though maybe donāt got with Elizabeth Belle & Isabelle Eliza.
I donāt like [name_f]Edie[/name_f] at all. I just donāt like the way it sounds and all the spellings of it look awkward to me. It can be great for other people, but not for me
I prefer [name_m]Eddie[/name_m] to [name_f]Edie[/name_f]
i think i like edie and i want to like edie, but every time i say it out loud all i can think is eating disorder. so it is a paper only name for me
Aaand I think you just gave me an even more legit reason to not like that name
AGREED. I love Franz!
[name_f]Narcissa[/name_f] looks like [name_m]Narcissus[/name_m]
[name_f]Nadia[/name_f] > [name_f]Naomi[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] > [name_f]Julietta[/name_f] > [name_u]Julianne[/name_u] > [name_u]Julie[/name_u] > [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] > [name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Theodosia[/name_f] > [name_f]Theodora[/name_f]
[name_f]Amalia[/name_f] > [name_f]Amalie[/name_f] > [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] > [name_f]Amelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] > [name_f]Cornelia[/name_f]
[name_u]Cody[/name_u] > [name_u]Corey[/name_u] > [name_m]Coby[/name_m] > [name_u]Colby[/name_u]
[name_f]Ruth[/name_f]
[name_f]Ruthie[/name_f]
Itās amazing the difference a little -ie can make!
This is so true! It just brightens up the whole name!!
[name_u]Love[/name_u] Dan/Danielle/Daniella, but I hate [name_u]Daniel[/name_u] and Danny/Dani
[name_u]Daniel[/name_u], [name_m]Nathaniel[/name_m] Ect i dislike because of the [name_m]Niel[/name_m] ending.
If [name_f]Danielle[/name_f] is a name, why isnāt Nathanelle
iāve seen a few people saying they have been put off cameron because it means crooked nose
but honestly, i think crooked nose is such an adorable meaning
For a second I thought you said it meant ācooked noseā and I didnāt realize until after, I was very confused as to why that would be a cute meaning
I feel like a lot of names here are āallowedā to be made fun of, simply because theyāre disliked by the majority of people. This includes some of the names that I like, such as the modern invented mix-and-match names.
[name_f]Kylee[/name_f], [name_u]Rylee[/name_u]. [name_m]Brayson[/name_m], [name_m]Tayson[/name_m], [name_m]Cason[/name_m]. [name_u]Braelyn[/name_u], [name_f]Raelyn[/name_f], [name_f]Maelyn[/name_f]. [name_f]Skylynn[/name_f], [name_f]Starlynn[/name_f], etc.
I think people react too strongly to these kind of names. I can understand not liking them, but with the way some people act, youād think I suggested something truly problematic like [name_m]Adolf[/name_m].
They may not have much history yet, but at least they are created by combining parts of other well-known names. With no major past associations yet, you basically get a clean slate and make your own history. And I think thatās pretty cool!
(I think completely making a name up from scratch is a bit much for me, but thatās a conversation for another time)
Butā¦
I really donāt understand Camryn/Kamryn at all.
I especially dislike [name_u]Kamryn[/name_u]. I get that changing a letter to āyā is a pretty common way to make a name more āgirlyā (even if I donāt understand why), but why would you remove the āeā from [name_u]Cameron[/name_u]? That changes the pronunciation.
At this point, I donāt think they could even be considered the same name.
And why is K considered more feminine than C? I have the same problem with [name_u]Karsyn[/name_u]. Name you girl [name_u]Carson[/name_u] (or even Carsyn) if you must, but adding a K does not make it more of a girlsā name.
I feel like if you have to make multiple spelling changes to a name in order to like it, you probably never really liked that name in the first place and you might as well pick a different one.
I put this in the memes but [name_f]Sosie[/name_f] is [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] + [name_f]Sophie[/name_f] and itās better than both!
Imagine NAMEBERRY!
beat-rice!! well⦠now i CANāT unsee ittttt
stillā¦
beatrice> beatrix
