It just makes me hungry⦠I think because of āShepherdās pieā Maybe that says more about me than anything else
iām sorryyyy this is exactly how i feel when someone says they donāt like one of my favorites, so i get it.
[name_m]Long[/name_m] rant warning:
[name_f]My[/name_f] hot take which will be very offensive to some namers out there, so sorry in advance:

I donāt like [name_f]Clementine[/name_f].
Please do not make any attempt to injure me.
For me, a clementine is a fruit. A clementine is something you eat when you come home from school. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], to me, is not a name. I would not name my child Watermelon. I would not name my child Cantaloupe. Also, the sounds just sound very nasal to me. Cle sounds like gagging (cLEeeE i hAvE sTrEp!), men is MEN, and [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is usually girls, and tine sounds harsh to me.
No offense to anyone! [name_f]My[/name_f] opinion
Oh my gosh, Cantaloupe āTaliā or āCallieā would make the cutest name
Fr but its a foodā¦
All the best names are gps
why was i not tagged in this nearly all of mt list is literally word names /j /lh
cantaloupe ālouā ācatā would be super adorable; oo, kit or kip would be super cute as well! i love how perfectly unisex cantaloupe feels, maybe that should be my gp of the day!! oh, and lou can be my notd!!!
That honors me
thats a dpuble honor name oh my gosh!!
Same tbh, I wouldnāt say I completely dislike it but I seriously do not get the hype. It sounds a little too overly sweet to me, erring just a bit too close to names like [name_f]Missy[/name_f], [name_m]Buddy[/name_m], [name_u]Love[/name_u], etc.
This is a piping hot take for some, but I donāt like unisex names. Some are all right if they had a history for one gender but are now common for the other, such as [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] or [name_u]Madison[/name_u]. But names like [name_u]Jamie[/name_u], [name_u]Robin[/name_u], [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], etc. do not work for me, because they feel too masculine for a girl but too feminine for a boy to wear. I suppose those are the true unisex names, which work for some, of course! And then there are some in which my closest Nameberry friends where which suit them so much! I suppose it comes down to the name!
Not all words should be names⦠actually very few words should be names
Idk why I just donāt get the name word trend
i think @wishmay and @sandpiper would disagree (lupin pip come over her and defend lightkeeper and melancholyās honor!!) (/hj)
Nonchalant too!!
Respectfully disagree ā I doubt Iād be brave enough to actually use any of my wild word loves, but I will defend them with my life
The syllable āClemā is one of the most unattractive and off-putting syllables Iāve ever heard so I feel you on this.
Inspired by thisā¦
Clem >>>>>>>> Clementine
Thank you SO much itās difficult to find others who agree. Reminds me of a mix of chlamydia and phlegm.
my whole style used to be word names then one day I just quit liking most of them lmao (mainly super āout-thereā ones)
i like clementine but clem makes me dislike it enough to not have it on my list. i think i mostly just like the -ine ending and the length of it, so valentine and pomeline are a good substitution. clem also reminds me of clam and phlegm
[name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is really popular with the sort of upper-middle-London-Cotswolds-nannies-designer-prams-and-labradors set, at the moment, so I just associate it with syrupy posh accents and people I found annoying at school
Donāt get me wrong, itās kind of cute, and Iām probably on the fringes of that group myself (love a Telegraph name after all), but itās just so ubiquitous that Iām over it. Same goes for [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].
Adding to the [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] debate: Iāve suggested [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] to many users, but Iām not one for it myself. I only suggest it to them because itās wildly popular on here and suits their style. Most of my dislike for the name arises from its pronunciation. I instinctively pronounce it as ātineā (rhyming with line) but I know it is pronounced āteenā. I love a lot of word names but [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] does not cut it for me. Reminds me of hippie aristocrats, if hippie aristocrats exist (do they?). On the contrary, [name_m]Clement[/name_m] is excusable. [name_f]Clemence[/name_f] and [name_f]Clemency[/name_f] are not that great either.
