Right now the name we have picked out is [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] nickname [name]Avie[/name]. I really just want to get to the nickname [name]Avie[/name] but have a full real name to fall back on. I’m trying to avoid the [name]Bella[/name] nn of [name]Arabella[/name]. SO how bad/made up sounding is it? It won’t hurt my feelings, I doubt I’d have the guts to go with it anyways lol.
My daughters name is Avabella. I too started with [name]Arabella[/name] but was worried kids at school would call her Ariola then nipple girl. Lol. Her nickname is [name]Ellie[/name] but we almost always call her Avabella or Avabelle
I would use [name]Ava[/name] to get the nickname [name]Avie[/name]. It is much clearer.
I think it works. It’s a play on her initials… A.V… [name]Avie[/name]. Avabella looks made up, and I’m personally not a fan. [name]Arabella[/name] is a beautiful, established name and with the middle [name]Victoria[/name] you could get to [name]Avie[/name].
I don’t really love Avabelle or Avabella but [name]Ava[/name]-[name]Belle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] or [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] would work. (Somehow combined Avabelle is just odd to me). But I agree with dindlee [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] (AV) could be enough inspiration for [name]Avie[/name].
My mind is telling me not to like it. I don’t like many smushed-together names or “made-up” names, and the look of this name really puts me off. However, my ears are saying that I do enjoy this name. Aesthetically, I would spell it Avabell. Avabelle looks like it’s TOO much, and Avabel is too similar to [name]Isabel[/name]. I don’t like Avabella at all, although I am a fan of [name]Arabella[/name]. Avabella just doesn’t roll off the tongue. I also agree with dindlee and lexiem. I also like lexiem’s suggestions of [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name].
I hate made up names but Avabelle doesn’t sound bad at all. I don’t like the multiple a endings in Avabella. [name]Arabella[/name] is the street that I live on so I don’t associate it with a name anyway. Could you separate the names and just name her [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name]? Then it’s a sweet double name, not a made up name.
Would you consider [name]Avia[/name], meaning “bird like”? I think that’s so pretty. My personal feeling about mashup names… at first I really don’t like them, but after a little while the names, or maybe just the child grows on me. I used to babysit a [name]Jessalyn[/name] and a Kateliegh. At first I didn’t like their names but now I think they are cute. So if you like it others will too in time, even if not at first.
[name]Arabella[/name] [name]Victoria[/name]- Pretty
Avabella- Pretty
Avabelle- My least favorite of your choices
I compltely agree with lexiem.
Avabella and Avabelle look ‘off’ to me. I think [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name], nn [name]Avie[/name] would be gorgeous.
I’m not that keen. Prefer [name]Arabella[/name]. Far classier.
I prefer Avabella to Avabelle.
It’s pretty, but I just wonder if everyone would keep calling her [name]Arabella[/name] anyway, thinking the v is meant to be an r.
Avabella is one of the better [name]Bella[/name] names to be honest. [name]Arabella[/name] might be classy, but it’s becoming increasingly popular. [name]Ava[/name]‘s in the top 100 in every english speaking country, so I’d avoid that on it’s own if you’re aiming for originality. A suggestion I do have though, is to follow in [name]Amy[/name] [name]Adams[/name]’ footsteps, and use the very gorgeous, [name]Aviana[/name]. [name]Aviana[/name] means 'beautiful breath of life" (from what I’ve read) and it’s a unique take on an overused name
I’m not much of a fan of made-up smoosh names (except for a couple of well-established ones), though I don’t think that this particular one is too bad really. I’d say I preferred Avabelle to Avabella though.
There are other names apart from [name]Ava[/name] that start in Av- that you could use to get [name]Avie[/name]. My favourite is [name]Aveline[/name] ([name]AH[/name]-vuh-leen) and there is also [name]Avis[/name] (AY-vis) and, as a pp mentioned, [name]Aviana[/name]. I do think that using [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] and using the initials A.V. is a good idea too.
[name]Love[/name] Avabelle.
I wouldn’t be surprised if I met a little girl named Avabelle/Avabella. With all the other smooshes of popular names/sounds, this fits in with those modern/trendy names perfectly. I do prefer all your other options though.
prefer Avabel to Avabella/Avabelle because it looks slightly less made up. What about a different Av- name?
Averella (my personal favorite)
[name]Averil[/name]
Avonlea
[name]Avalon[/name]
[name]Avalyn[/name]
Avalina
It’s cute.
It’s not awful, but I’m really not a fan. Avabelle or Avabella sounds too made up for me.
I don’t like Avabella at all, and I don’t love Avabelle as one word… but [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name] as a first/middle or even a double first works so much better to me. The suggestion of [name]Ava[/name] [name]Belle[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] is also nice. Getting [name]Avie[/name] from [name]Arabella[/name] [name]Victoria[/name] also works to me, and sounds nicer than Avabella.
I also like Avonlea, as a major [name]Anne[/name] of [name]Green[/name] Gables fan.
