I love it as a nickname any thoughts?
You donāt necessarily need to have it in the name - plenty of nick names come in different forms.

[name]Rhiannon[/name]
This is a great nic name for a girl - takes me back to my highschool days āHer name is [name]Rio[/name] and she dances on the sand / [name]Just[/name] like that river twisting through a dusty land.ā ([name]Duran[/name] [name]Duran[/name])
I canāt think of what it could possibly be short for - all I am coming up with isā¦
[name]Rosario[/name]
[name]Rosario[/name] is a good suggestion.
Rosio
[name]Rocio[/name]
[name]Riona[/name]
[name]Rhiannon[/name]
For a girl? Iād say [name]Rosario[/name] is youāre best bet. Thereās also [name]Rosalie[/name] but
thatās a bit of a stretch. For a boy? You could go with something like [name]Mario[/name] or [name]Orion[/name]. Names containing ārioā:
Girls:
[name]Briona[/name]
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Marion[/name]
[name]Riona[/name]
[name]Catriona[/name] (though this is prn. like [name]Katrina[/name], [name]Rio[/name] could still work, I think).
[name]Orion[/name] (usually a boys name)
Boys:
[name]Clarion[/name]
[name]Demetrio[/name]
[name]Gregorio[/name]
[name]Riordan[/name]
FWIW, I think [name]Rio[/name] works nicely as a name on itās own and could work for either a girl or a boy. But I happen to like that style of names a lot, so I totally understand if itās too out there for some people.
Actually, [name]Catriona[/name] can be pronounced. [name]Cat[/name]-TREE-uh-nuh, with emphasis on the i. I love this name. You say the syllables separately but quickly enough so it doesnāt sound broken up. It does come out sounding very similar to [name]Catrina[/name] but youāre closer to [name]Rio[/name].
[name]Hi[/name]!
Boys:
[name]Dario[/name]
[name]Porfirio[/name]
[name]Ramiro[/name]
[name]Ricardo[/name]
[name]Richard[/name]
[name]Rodrigo[/name]
[name]Vittorio[/name]
Also, [name]Rio[/name] means āriverā in Spanish, so maybe [name]River[/name] nn [name]Rio[/name] would work?
Girls:
Rāoghnach
Rāona
Rāonach
Or, you can pretty much use anything with the āreeā sound in it. A few examples:
Boys:
[name]Ari[/name]
[name]Darius[/name]
[name]Marius[/name]
[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Rhys[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
Girls:
[name]Aria[/name]
[name]Ariana[/name]
[name]Daria[/name]
[name]Maria[/name]
[name]Mariana[/name]
[name]Marietta[/name]
[name]Oriana[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
[name]Vittoria[/name]
Good luck!
I think if it for a girl something like [name]Rilee[/name] olivia would be darling and if for a boy somehthing like rickston oliver would be neat
If you really want to be clever, [name]River[/name] works well for a girl or boy.
If you are daring you can go for [name]Rio[/name] de Janiero.
