This is a great nic name for a girl - takes me back to my highschool days ā€œHer name is [name]Rio[/name] and she dances on the sand / [name]Just[/name] like that river twisting through a dusty land.ā€ ([name]Duran[/name] [name]Duran[/name])

I canā€™t think of what it could possibly be short for - all I am coming up with isā€¦

For a girl? Iā€™d say [name]Rosario[/name] is youā€™re best bet. Thereā€™s also [name]Rosalie[/name] but
thatā€™s a bit of a stretch. For a boy? You could go with something like [name]Mario[/name] or [name]Orion[/name]. Names containing ā€œrioā€:

Girls:
[name]Briona[/name]
[name]Briony[/name]
[name]Marion[/name]
[name]Riona[/name]
[name]Catriona[/name] (though this is prn. like [name]Katrina[/name], [name]Rio[/name] could still work, I think).

FWIW, I think [name]Rio[/name] works nicely as a name on itā€™s own and could work for either a girl or a boy. But I happen to like that style of names a lot, so I totally understand if itā€™s too out there for some people.

Actually, [name]Catriona[/name] can be pronounced. [name]Cat[/name]-TREE-uh-nuh, with emphasis on the i. I love this name. You say the syllables separately but quickly enough so it doesnā€™t sound broken up. It does come out sounding very similar to [name]Catrina[/name] but youā€™re closer to [name]Rio[/name].

I think if it for a girl something like [name]Rilee[/name] olivia would be darling and if for a boy somehthing like rickston oliver would be neat

If you really want to be clever, [name]River[/name] works well for a girl or boy. :slight_smile:

If you are daring you can go for [name]Rio[/name] de Janiero.
