How close to your due date did you deliver?

I am just curious to see how close to the due date(s) everyone delivered their baby(ies). A few people have said that after their first child their consective children came ealier than their due dates. Which is obviously not true for everyone. With my first I was 9 days early. My doctor decided to induce me after having been dilated 5cm for 2 days, but I wasn’t having any contractions or other signs of labour. Today is my second babies due date, and there is no sign at all of the little one wanting to come. It’s really hard to wait this time, especially because we didn’t find out the gender.

I haven’t had a baby yet, but I was my mom’s first and I was a week late. My sister was on time.

My first was supposed to be induced at 10 days late (he ended up being a crash c/s before I even got on an i.v)
My second was exactly 14 days late (full 42 weeks) started labor naturally although they did augment…
My third was 14 days late if you go buy the 28 day cycle wheel due date…but I found out that I’m a 34-35 day cycle girl…in which case she was only about 1 week late…(the fact that I found all that out makes me think that my second wasn’t actually 42 weeks but really 41 weeks)

I’m due with #4 and this time I have my “right” due date…hopefully I’ll only be 1 week late.

From what I’ve heard those that go early tend to go later with subsequent babies.

5 days after(7 lbs 13 oz, water broke to signal start of labor), 5 days before(8lb 5 ox ctx started in the morning, went in around noon, she was born around 3:45), 4 days after(9lb 6oz, ctx that started in the morning he was born early evening), 3 days after (8lbs, ctx started early in the morning on the 20th, she was born at 3:15ish AM on the 21st). Accurate since I did not recieve any meds to speed along labor except with my first but my membranes had already ruptured…no induction etc.
I have heard its hereditary, funny because my mom had us all between 1-3 weeks early and my sisters two were bothborn within the week before her due date.

My boy was born the day that I turned 38 weeks and he was 8 lbs 5 oz. Hopefully I don’t deliver my future babies earlier than that.

My son was born 3 days before my due date.

My first was born at 35 weeks and 5 days, so a month early and a week premature (spontaneous rupture of the membranes, although I’m convinced that my first cervical check the day before caused my water to break). With this one, I’m taking progesterone injections, so we’re hoping I make it to term.

[name]Annaliese[/name] was born just on time, [name]Eden[/name] was 11 days late & [name]Isobel[/name] was 2 days late.

I was 3 days late with both my girls. I found there was nothing I could do to induce labour,…Good luck!

Interesting to see.
Spritz I can’t believe you were so late with all of yours, I would be ready to reach up there and pull them out. I I love your little girls name [name]Everly[/name] btw
Jemama I love [name]Linus[/name] [name]Ezra[/name] and [name]Felix[/name]. You were some what consistent with all of them. I have asked my mom a few times when we were all delivered but I can never remember. Doesn’t seem to matter though just another old wives tale.

I am going to get a massage and acupuncture today, hoping the acupuncture helps. If not I may try castor oil :0S

Not to freak you out, but I wouldnt do castor oil. My friend who is a midwife strongly discourages it. Because of the cleansing action, it can cause some babies to poop (meconium) thus, when the mothers water breaks its not clear and signals fetal distress which could lead to interventions that may not be needed. Or, worse, meconium asperation. All this to say, it is very tempting but could be detrimental to you and your sweet one. I did accupuncture and accupressure with Vio starting at 38 weeks. Its the kind of thing that really works if you are ready but if not, not going to make anything happem. [name]Trust[/name] me, I have read and talked to a lot of people about natural ways to induce labor but as you can see it didnt work. Lol.

I do have a friendwhose sister in law is an hebalist, she made her some sort of tea that had, get this, dried seahorse in it!!! She was so ready to give birth she drank it. Had her baby a week or so later, I get green just thinking about seahorse tea!!!

Thanks for the name compliments. [name]Linus[/name] is the only child who has not met another with his name young or old. Surprsingly, everyone we meet likes it. And our family and friends did too after the got past the “like on peanuts” comments.

My first was 4 days early and second 8 days early. I’m hoping my third is about the same as #2, because 10 days early is Thanksgiving [name]Day[/name], and I’d like to enjoy my turkey and pie. If this baby comes on Thanksgiving my husband is going to be bringing my dinner to the hospital, because I doubt the hospital’s version of Thanksgiving dinner is very good.

Two days late with my first and two days early with my second!

Ten days late with my first and six days late with #2. I had a full-on Pitocin induction with DD1 and 1 dose of Cervadil for DD2 (we were hoping to avoid having her share a birthday with her older brother, they ended up being 1 day apart).

I’d second the recommendation to NOT try castor oil, for all the reasons stated above and because many women who’ve tried it said it was a horrible experience that did nothing to induce labor!

I was a week and a half late with my daughter. Scheduled for induction starting [name]Sunday[/name] night, but went into labor Friday evening. It was the longest week and a half of my life! Ironically, I’m hoping to be late with this one, since I"m due Oct 28th. I want to be able to go trick or treating with my 3 year old! And I don’t want a Halloween baby, so Nov 1 is good with me!

Went into labour on my due date with both my pregnancies, punctual little people.

I was 10 days late - needed the help of two doses of caster oil as prescribed by my midwives. [name]Baby[/name] boy had no intention of showing up on his own, and was born sunny side up after a non-interventive 24 hour labor  It was awesome!

My first son was 10 days late and I had to be induced. My second was 1 day early. He was born the day after a stretch and sweep and I had been drinking raspberry leaf tea for about 2 weeks.

My boys were born at 37 +1 weeks, but as they are twins I would have been induced had I gone another week.

I was born 3 weeks late (in the middle of the summer! my poor mother!) and 4 years later my sister was born, also late, but only 2 weeks I think.

I was 4 days late and I think I would have been later if they hadn’t pushed me into an induction which I didn’t need or want. I ended up with an emergency c-section. It was my first pregnancy.
