I would definitely ditto no-ay-mee or no-eh-me. The no-EMMY pronouciation makes me cringe!

[name_f]My[/name_f] 7 year old is [name_f]Noemi[/name_f]. In [name_f]English[/name_f], we call her No-em-ee. In Spanish, it should have an accent on the i. (NoemĂ) It is said like No-ay-MEE with emphasis on the last syllable. She also goes by [name_f]Mimi[/name_f]. Her 3 year old sister calls her No-mee.

no-ay-mee to me, although i can also hear no-eh-mee. when you say the name normally (e.g. in a sentence), they don’t sound too different.

There’s a website called Forvo where you can listen to recordings of names by native speakers of different languages.

I’d pronounce it “no-em-ME”.

I can also tell you how it’s NOT pronounced: Nay-oh-mee and Nigh-oh-mee. Usually when people see her name written, they will try to say [name_f]Naomi[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Noemi[/name_f] even though the vowels are totally different. Most of the time I just let it go now if it’s someone we will never see again. No one has tried to pronounce her middle name lol.
