How do we feel about Sloane?

I don’t know why or where this came from, but out of nowhere I’m crushing on [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] for my little girl. I was nearly sold on [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], but now I’m not so sure. What are your thoughts on [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] as a name for a girl?

Very classy and sleek, but not my style, personally. I’m not a huge fan of surnames as first names. But I could easily see a little girl with the name, if that’s any help. I prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] over [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], but again, that is just my opinion. If you love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] that’s all that matters!

I feel like I should like [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], but I’ve never been able to get on board with it. For me, it’s the “oan” sound - I’ve never been a big fan of it. I much prefer [name_f]Hannah[/name_f], but if [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] feels like “the” name, then it’s certainly not a bad choice, just a case of different strokes for different folks!

I prefer [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] over [name_f]Hannah[/name_f]. They are both nice but [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is too popular for me.

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] has a kind of preppy, energetic, confident vibe to me. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is more classic, gentle, and homespun. Both are great names when they suit their bearers. The names are so different that you might know which best fits your daughter’s personality when you meet her.

I’ve been loving [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] recently. It feels so sophisticated, sleek, feminine but not frilly. I like it a lot

I want to like it but the sound doesnt quite gel with me for some reason

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is very sleek and classy to me, though not my personal style. I do prefer it to [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] though!

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is quite unattractive, [name_f]IMO[/name_f]. It just doesn’t have a pretty sound…akin to [name_u]Blair[/name_u], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Bronwyn[/name_f], [name_f]Enid[/name_f], [name_f]Opal[/name_f], [name_f]Dorcas[/name_f], [name_f]Beryl[/name_f], etc.

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] feels sleek, sophisticated and classy. I adore the strong meaning of ‘warrior’ and find it to be a nicely effeminate but not frilly. [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is also lovely but is way more popular which is enough to make me prefer [name_u]Sloane[/name_u].

[name_u]Love[/name_u] the Ambiguity of [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. It is a professional classy name! [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is a bit dull and quite common.

I would go with a feminine middle in case she is a girly girl and feels like [name_u]Sloan[/name_u] is a bit too manly.
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloan[/name_u] [name_f]Willow[/name_f]
[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] Geneve

I don’t care for it.

[name_u]Sloane[/name_u] is gorgeous. It’s sleek, polished, feminine w/out being too fussy. It’s not super common either (although rising the charts a bit.) [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] is a lovely classic, just not as interesting as [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. Dh’s cousin has a little girl named [name_u]Sloane[/name_u], & she is way adorable. That may be swaying me a bit.

[name_f]Hope[/name_f] this helps!

One of my absolute favorite names!!

[name_u]Love[/name_u], love, love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. It’s one of the names I’ve loved since I was a little girl, but sadly we can’t use it as one of my husband’s closest friends used it for his daughter. I think it’s cool, sophisticated, and fun!

I love [name_u]Sloane[/name_u]. If it works with your surname, you could use [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] in the middle spot (or swap them)! Both [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] and [name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_u]Sloane[/name_u] are pretty names.
