How do you feel about Vita?

I’ve never really considered this name before but came across the combo [name_f]Vita[/name_f] [name_f]Anwen[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] the other day and thought it was stunning!

I’ve been mulling it over since and [name_f]Vita[/name_f] strikes me as a really sweet, vibrant, sophisticated name well due a revival in the wake of [name_f]Ava[/name_f] et al. What do you think?

I personally would not use [name_f]Vita[/name_f] but I can understand it’s charm. [name_f]Vita[/name_f] [name_f]Anwen[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is beautiful. I love the meaning, “life”. The name is very sweet.

I probably would have dismissed it but having now seen that combo I might be converted! I’ve heard of the nn [name_f]Via[/name_f] (vee-ah) before which I really like so [name_f]Vita[/name_f] is pretty similar I guess.

In the industry I work in the phrase “curriculum vita” is used all the time, and not infrequently shortened to “vita,” so it makes me think of that. But otherwise, I agree with your feelings on the name: “sweet, vibrant, sophisticated.” I’m an American English speaker and when I say [name_f]Vita[/name_f] out loud, the “t” kind of turns into a “d”–or rather, you can’t really tell the difference between the two in my accent, so it brings it closer to the Spanish word “vida.” [name_m]Just[/name_m] something to consider depending on where you live.

I really like [name_f]Viveca[/name_f] and [name_f]Aviva[/name_f], which have a similar vibe, but they are maybe a little “fussier” than [name_f]Vita[/name_f], and I do like the appeal of a bright-sounding two syllable name.

I think it has a great meaning and is unusual without being obscure.

@wildmoonchild that’s my feeling too. I’d never given the name much thought before but sometimes the perfect combo just catches your attention!

@halloween_jacqueline I’m a big fan of [name_f]Viveca[/name_f] too. So spiky and vivacious!
