Most of the family like the name ideas, just DD 14 thinks [name]Cormac[/name] is ‘weird’ and [name]Oliver[/name] is ‘eww’ and [name]Liam[/name] apparently should be the first name- that or [name]Ryan[/name]. [name]Alexander[/name] is also to her taste. Other DD and DS think [name]Cormac[/name] is an awesome name.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]. Your DD will, in the end, come to love her new sibling, even if she’s not too happy about his name.
[name]Cormac[/name] [name]Flynn[/name], [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Alexander[/name], [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Liam[/name] - I like [name]Cormac[/name] but it seems hard to find the perfect combo. My fav from your list is [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Liam[/name].
[name]Oliver[/name] [name]Liam[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Cormac[/name], [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] - I love [name]Oliver[/name]. All of these are great. I like [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Cormac[/name] the best.
[name]Alexander[/name] [name]Cormac[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Flynn[/name] - I like both of these but [name]Alexander[/name]/[name]Alex[/name] seems so popular that it has become a little boring to me.
I love your suggestion of [name]Liam[/name] [name]Cormac[/name]. I think it sounds the best out of the combinations you have suggested so far, and I think [name]Liam[/name] is such a handsome name. I do not feel it is overdone, and I think [name]Cormac[/name] gives it a little extra spunk.
Additionally I like [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] and [name]Oliver[/name] [name]Cormac[/name], but [name]Liam[/name] [name]Cormac[/name] is my favorite.
Most kids in that 12-15 age group will automatically gravitate towards more common, popular names. It’s the point in time in your life when you just want to fit in, before you decide in your later teens that you really want to stand out. As such, I wouldn’t take an “ewww” objection too seriously. As soon as she hits college she’ll be bragging that her family was cool enough to name her brother [name]Cormac[/name].
Since [name]Cormac[/name] himself will be 12 some day, I’d give him a standard classic middle name. [name]Alexander[/name] is a good choice.
I like [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] as well! My second choice would be [name]Liam[/name] [name]Cormac[/name], though [name]Liam[/name] as you know is quite popular.
[name]Don[/name]'t worry, your daughter will end up loving her new brother’s name just as easily as she loves him (though at 14 perhaps she could read/has already read the [name]Harry[/name] [name]Potter[/name] series? [name]Both[/name] [name]Oliver[/name] and [name]Cormac[/name] appear as names in it which might help her to start viewing them as the “cool” choices that they are!) Honestly all 6 of them are great names so I don’t think you can go wrong with any order! =]
I’m a big fan of [name]Cormac[/name] and [name]Cormac[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] is pretty perfect!
But, if you want to mess with perfection, what about these for middle names:
[name]William[/name] - Teen can call him [name]Liam[/name] until she decides that [name]Cormac[/name] is a thousand times cooler
[name]Sullivan[/name]
[name]Donovan[/name]
[name]Alasdair[/name]/[name]Alistair[/name]/[name]Alastair[/name] - variations of [name]Alexander[/name]
Hmmm, thanks for all the responses and feedback.
Interestingly DD likes: [name]Liam[/name], [name]Harry[/name] and [name]Lewis[/name] (AKA [name]One[/name] Direction…) LOL
dova- I had [name]Liam[/name] #1 for so long, but it is so popular. Maybe it is time I reconsider it and just get over it’s popularity.
blade- I was thinking along those lines last night- maybe to have a ‘classic’ with a quirky just to ensure it isn’t too out there. You’re right, soon DD will realise that peers are not actually the be all and end all and that being indiviudal is an asset.
amydomsmom-thanks for your feedback- it’s taken ages to pin down some names.
[name]East[/name]- sorry you’re not keen on [name]Cormac[/name]. Luckily most others seem to like it well enough- so at least it isn’t universally hated.
[name]Tara[/name]- interestingly [name]William[/name] is a family name, so might work. [name]Will[/name] think on that one.
[name]William[/name] [name]Cormac[/name] or [name]Cormac[/name] [name]William[/name] would be very nice and give him (and your daughter) plenty of options!
