I am just playing around with some Greek inspired names at the moment. I found Aella and I love how it looks written down on paper. However, I am not sure how it’s pronounced. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce Aella? Ay-luh? [name_m]Ah[/name_m]-ella? Ay-ell-uh? And my second question is: do you find it usable or a little too out-there? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you like it?
My first instinct is Ay-ell-ah. I kinda like it!
I see Ae combination sounding just like the way you would say a capital A. So Like ay-luh. The ay sounding like end of ‘say’ if that makes any sense.
I thinks it’s a very pretty name and [name_f]IMO[/name_f] not too out there. It’s just up to your personal opinion whether or not other people saying it differently will be a problem.
I would assume ay-luh
I’ve heard it as “ah-eh-la” (ah as in apple) but I’m not sure if that’s the correct pronunciation.
[name_u]Love[/name_u] Aella! It’s one of my favourites. I say it like “Ay-ella” because that’s how I prefer it and have heard it like that before… You could probably also easily get away with “Ay-la.” I’d say that because it’s so unfamiliar to the world that you could go either way depending on what you prefer!
“ay-luh” … I think it is totally useable. It is very pretty.
Well, it seems I say it differently altogether – AA-eh-luh (or kind of like UH-eh-luh), which sounds more like EYE-luh, than AY-luh. I believe this is closer to how it is said in Greek, and I like this pronunciation best myself.
I really like Aella, and I love the quirky and unusual ‘whirlwind’ meaning and the [name_f]Amazonian[/name_f] warrior mythology.
I instinctively read it as A [name_f]Ella[/name_f]. But with consideration it should probably be eye-luh
I have it on my list, and say it as AY-luh. I really like it! I think it fits in with more popular names like [name_f]Ava[/name_f] and [name_f]Isla[/name_f], but is much more interesting. I like the meaning a lot too.
Thank you ladies! I mentioned this name to my hubby and he loves it too. Definitely adding Aella to our list.
Aella is a very beautiful Greek name and one that I have considered for myself. I am Greek and so the correct pronunciation of this name would be eye-luh.
considering it is greek… “eye-elle-uh?”
I don’t know how it’s pronounced but I would instinctively say it like paella without the p! Kind of like eye-ey-ya
