I just came across this name in one of my baby name books. I think its really pretty, but I’m not exactly sure how its pronounced. Thanks for the responses!
[name]Alaia[/name] is pretty! I say it ah-LYE-ah… kind of like [name]Amaya[/name]/[name]Amaia[/name] with an “L”.
I would say “[name]Al[/name]-EYE-uh”. I think it is a beautiful name! I am considering this name for my own list as well, but our name tastes have always been similar!
Best Wishes
[name]Azzedine[/name] [name]Alaia[/name] is a well-known fashion designer and his surname is pronounced “ah-LYE-ah”. I think it has a very pretty sound but you may have pronunciation issues as some people would be more inclined to say “ah-[name]LAY[/name]-ah”.
I would say “ah-[name]Lay[/name]-ah” [name]Hope[/name] that helps. I like the name though, very nice.
I really like this name and my instinct is to say ah-LYE-uh, but then I hate that all I hear is “a liar”. For that reason if I used it, I may go for the ah-[name]LAY[/name]-uh pronunciation. It could just be me hearing a liar though!
I’d pronounce it uh-[name]LAY[/name]-ah upon first glance, but I think uh-LYE-ah could work too.
I think I go for the first pronounciation becuase my niece’s name is [name]Laila[/name], so the “ai” in her name makes the AY sound. Same goes for Cailin, Caitlin, Bailey, etc. Not too many names with an “ai” make an EYE sound.
:pArial[/name] [name]Black[/name]]You pronounce it ah-la-yuh.
a like ah
la is pronounced like la in LAST
ia is pronounced like yuh.
