How do you pronounce Anika?

[name]Just[/name] wondering because I’ve heard it pronounced several different ways…

My [name]Nanny[/name]'s name is [name]Anika[/name] and she is from Germany. She pronounced it like Ahn-ick-a. I never knew how to say it at first but now it is automatic and I love it!

I say [name]Ann[/name]-i-ka. It’s a lovely name - a good friend of mine just named her gorgeous daughter [name]Annika[/name] (spelt with the double n) and the name suits her so much. Stylish, classy but a little bit cheeky too!

The [name]German[/name]/Dutch/Scandinavian cultures pronounce it “ahn-ick-ah” and that’s the way I would pronounce it too since it’s their version of [name]Anne[/name].

I too know an [name]Annika[/name] of [name]German[/name] descent, she’s Ahn-ih-kah too.

[name]Ann[/name]-ick-uh

I would say, “Uh-nee-kuh”

Although, I prefer ahn-ih-kah
