I’ve been loving [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] lately, but I’ve heard it pronounced several different ways. I prefer aw-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-ah. The Nameberry page lists aw-REEL-ya; I’ve also heard people say aw-Reh-lee-ah or ow-Reh-lee-ah. Which way is your favorite? [name_f]Do[/name_f] you think the different pronunciations would cause too many problems?
OH-rail-EE-uh
I say or-eel-ee-uh
In English, Au/O-ree-lee-a!
I say aw-[name_u]Ray[/name_u]-lee-uh.
I have always wondered if I pronounce it correctly. [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] has too many pronunciations for me to really consider it, however it looks absolutely beautiful written.
I say aw-RELL-ee-ah, but I’ve also always been unsure if I’m saying it right
I say Au-ree-lee-ah but I think that’s my accent. This is a name with many different pronunciations. The one you use is a legitimate pronunciation of the name, you can totally use it
I’m fairly certain the correct pronunciation is closest to ow-Reh-lee-ah and that’s the one I prefer.
uh-rell-ee-uh
I read the Nameberry pronunciation and I don’t like it so I’m just going to pretend my pronunciation is right
It’s my daughter’s middle name. I love it! Our pronunciation rhymes with Australia.
I say Aw-[name_u]RAY[/name_u]-lee-ah. It’s definitely my favourite pronunciation and the only one I would use. I think I’d just try to reinforce the pronunciation and be prepared for a few corrections. I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] might be one of those names where there’s a little awareness that there are multiple ways of saying it, so I wouldn’t think it’d be too bad.
I always say a reel yuh. However, I now know a little girl and they say a rail yuh.
I know a little girl with the name. Everyone says “ah-rail-ya”. We live in the US (if that makes a difference).
I say it the way you do and think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] is a gorgeous name!
