I pronounce it with three syllables, as bee-uh-tris :honeybee:

I have heard it pronounced both ways. I think it depends on accent or dialect or family preference.

There are also different pronunciations in different languages (notably Italian, beh-ah-TREE-cheh).

As someone in the American [name_m]South[/name_m], I would say BEE-uh-triss.

I think both are legitimate :person_shrugging: just depends where you are and what you like best.

I say it kind of like Beer-triss (I guess closer to Beet-triss)

I pronounce it with three syllables but neither way would be exactly wrong…

I think both are correct. It just depends on which feels right to you, in this case.

I say all three syllables, but when I’m talking at normal speed, it sounds more like two.

This one!

Wow, these are both so much prettier! (I personally don’t care for Beatrice in English)

I say BEE-uh-triss. I do have a friend who says BEE-triss with just two syllables, too.

I do say it with 3 syllables like Bee-uh-Tris but the a is very soft and almost gets lost so it sounds almost like Bee-Tris. I think I heard bay-uh-tree-see once and really liked that
