How do you pronounce Ekaterina?

Is the E silent? Does it sound like the letter E? Or does it sound like Et? Or something completly different?

Please if you know the right way to say it, spell it out the way it sounds and give an example of the sound trough other names that make the same sound. It is very important to me. Thank you!

I pronounce it as ~ ee-kat-er-ee-na.

[name]Hope[/name] that helps!

I have a friend from [name]Russia[/name] named [name]Ekaterina[/name], she pronounces it more like yeh-ka-tih-[name]REE[/name]-na.
She says it like this: Екатерина pronunciation: How to pronounce Екатерина in Russian, Tatar, Bulgarian, Mari

I say it as eh-kat-er-[name]REE[/name]-na.

Wow I listened to that link and their is no way I could ever say it like that. At least not without like a private Russian tutor or something haha. It does help a ton though and [name]Ekaterina[/name] turns out to sound even prettier than it looks. But I think I’ll stick to [name]Katerina[/name].
