[name_f]My[/name_f] cousin’s daughter (who’s mom is American and dad is Guatamalan) pronounces it eh-lay-nuh.

I tend to pronounce it Eh-leh-nuh, but it’s because that is what my Spanish friend and her family call me so thats the only place I hear it :woman_shrugging: my name is [name_f]Helen[/name_f], so my other instinct would be to say it like Ellen-uh. E-lay-nuh I would spell [name_f]Elaina[/name_f].

Eh-lay-nuh is my go to, but I’ve met an eh–len-uh too

None of these are quite right, so I voted for what’s closest. I pronounce it EL-ehn-a.

El-EH-na, as I’m Spanish

I pronounce like [name_f]Alaina[/name_f] because I used to babysit a girl names [name_f]Elena[/name_f] and thats how it’s pronounced

In english: eh-LAY-na

In german: more like eh-LEH-na but all of the EH sounds are long.

Many people in [name_u]Germany[/name_u] say it like Ellen-ah, though.

Depends on the language e.g. [name_f]English[/name_f] vs Spanish vs Italian pronunciations.

In [name_f]English[/name_f] I’d pronounce it Elaine-uh. So exactly like the name [name_f]Elaine[/name_f] with an extra syllable.
