How do you pronounce Ephraim?

[name_m]How[/name_m] do you pronounce [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]? I grew up with a boy who pronounced his name EH-frum, with the short E like in [name_m]Ed[/name_m], end, echo. But online I see it as EE-frum, with a long E as in eat, [name_f]Edie[/name_f], easter. So how do you say [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]?

AND which do you like better?
[name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]
[name_m]Efraim[/name_m]
[name_m]Efram[/name_m]
[name_m]Efrem[/name_m]

Ef-raim so a short e here.

eh-frame (frame as in the word)

But it’s not a name I’ve ever met anyone with, so that’s just my impression looking at the spelling. xD I prefer [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m].

I’ve only heard it as eh-frum. And I like [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] best.

I say EH-frum. It’s a favourite of mine, and I love it (with that pronunciation)! My favourite spelling is definitely [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m].

I like when its spelled [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] and as far as pronunciation here’s a link

I would go with the second pronounciation

I met a boy once and also always assumed it was F - RUM

I pronounce it the same as you - EH-frum. It’s an amazing name, in my top 3

EFF-rum. I like the [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] spelling best.

I’ve only heard it pronounced ef-rae-m, which I think I prefer. And definitely the [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] spelling. Such a great name, it’s a favourite of mine.

I’ve heard it pronounced many ways, EFF-rum, EE-free-um, eff-RAYM, EE-frame… and probably others.
Personally, I love it pronounced EFF-rum and spelled [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] or [name_m]Efrem[/name_m].

Eh-frum… Kind of like [name_m]Zach[/name_m] [name_m]Efron[/name_m] but an -um sound at the end. I only like the [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] spelling

I like [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] best. I say it eh-frum, but I’ve heard ee-frum.

I’ve heard both eh-frum and eh-frame but I’d use eh-frum. I also prefer the spelling [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]

E-frum. I like the first spelling best.

Eff-rum and the [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] spelling. It’s a name I consider from time to time. One of my favorite uncles died a couple years ago and was the Spanish version of [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m]. I think it’s a great name. I do think an [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] would be mispronounced a lot, but so are a lot of great names. And a lot of not so great ones. I’d rather have a great name that people stumble over than a bad one people can say and spell. :stuck_out_tongue:

I say Ef-ra-eem.

EH-frum, spelled [name_m]Ephraim[/name_m] or [name_m]Ephram[/name_m].

ef-RAH-yim

EE-free-im
