How do you pronounce Ever?

According to nameberry, this is a unisex name. [name_m]How[/name_m] would you pronounce it (ee-ver, ehv-er) and what do you think of it?

The same as the word “ever”.

In my accent, it sounds like EV-uh, Ev like [name_u]Evan[/name_u]. Not fond of [name_u]Everly[/name_u] but I like [name_u]Ever[/name_u]. Except I read a bad book with that name in it.

I would pronounce it ehv-er. This is actually one of my guilty pleasure names. I absolutely love it for a girl, but I see how it could work on a boy as well. I don’t think the husband would let me use it, but something about it really appeals to me.

I’m in the UK, I’ve heard it for a girl a couple of times, but I’m thinking it might be so uncommon I could get away with it for a boy. I like it better for a boy!

I think [name_u]Ever[/name_u] is great for a boy. It’s said ehv-er, just like the word.

[name_m]Just[/name_m] like the word (rhymes with never)

I find it feminine

I would say Ehv-er. I love it! It’s short, easy to spell, and incredibly intriguing. I think it would work equally well for a boy (sounds similar to [name_m]Trevor[/name_m]) or a girl (looks similar to [name_f]Eve[/name_f]).

EH-vur…

EV-er, like the word ‘ever’.

“evver” like the English word “ever”
There’s a soccer player named Éver, though, and he’s Argentinean, so it’s pronounced “EH-behr” (the V sound is like a B/V cross) in his case.
I would never think to say EE-ver, at least with the spelling [name_u]Ever[/name_u], though I can see where that could come from.

I agree–just like the word! EVV-er.
