So! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband and I have tallied some collective scores and have what we think is the final 3 (unless of course we find something new or completely change our minds
)
[name_f]Evette[/name_f]
[name_f]Josette[/name_f]
[name_f]Isadora[/name_f]
When you see [name_f]Evette[/name_f], how do you say it? [name_m]Long[/name_m] Ee or short [name_m]Eh[/name_m]? I initially said it as a short vowel, and when I say it quickly it kind of turns into a short i. [name_f]My[/name_f] husband prefers Ee-vet which I also like.
I pronounce it as ee-VET, similar to [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]

[name_f]Lovely[/name_f] names.
I pronounce it with a long e, ee-vet.
I’d assume it was spelled Evette to avoid being pronounced like Yvette, so I’d say eh-VEHT.
I’d pronounce it “eh-VET”.
When I hear “ee-VET”, I automatically picture the name [name_f]Yvette[/name_f].
[name_f]Evette[/name_f] is really pretty!
I’d say it like [name_f]Yvette[/name_f]
I’m flip flopping between the two. I think I would initially say eh like [name_u]Everett[/name_u] minus the R because that’s how it looks visually but then immediately second guess myself and not be surprised to be corrected since ee like a long form of [name_f]Eve[/name_f] also makes sense.
