‘Lie-lah’ is how I say it.

I never made assumptions about the pronunciation of this name before watching [name]Dexter[/name]… Now every time I look at it I see [name]Ly[/name]-la.

For me…

[name]Lila[/name] = lie-luh
[name]Lela[/name] = lee-luh
[name]Lilla[/name] = lil-uh

[name]Lila[/name] is ly-lah to me.

I would assume that an American [name]Lila[/name] was LYE-la, but I prefer [name]LEE[/name]-la. [name]Lila[/name] (pronounced [name]Lee[/name]-la, not [name]Ly[/name]-la) is a Hindu concept of playful gods, and I think that it’s fascinating. I also just prefer the sound- I’m not really a fan of the long I.

I made a mistake and voted for [name]Lee[/name]-la when I was suppose to click [name]Ly[/name]-la, opps!

I would think Lie-la, but I do know somebody with a young daughter with this name, and they pronounce it [name]Lee[/name]-la.

I would assume Lie-luh but I love [name]Lee[/name]-luh!

It’s pronounced Lie-Luh. A little girl I babysit is named [name]Lila[/name] [name]Sunshine[/name]

The reason I ask is because I like the sound of [name]Lee[/name]-la, but wouldn’t choose [name]Lila[/name] if she was called [name]Ly[/name]-la as the default. I liked the idea of [name]Lela[/name].
[name]Do[/name] you think [name]Leela[/name] could work? make pronounciation more obvious?

I agree with your post. I much prefer the sound of [name]Lee[/name]-la versus Lie-la.
