I’m from Latin [name_u]America[/name_u]. I would say it “loo-shee-en.”
I’d say LOO-see-en
I pronounced Loo-shen
To me [name_m]Lucian[/name_m] is the SH and [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] is the SEE sound.
I pronounce it Loo-shen. It’s my son’s name so that’s how I say it. I think it flows nicely and I adore the name.
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] (Loo-shen) [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] (Loo-chi-enn)
I also like [name_m]Lucius[/name_m], pron. Loo-shus
I’m from Australia.
[name_f]Lucia[/name_f] in [name_f]Italy[/name_f] is pron. Loo-chia.
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] ( Loo-shen) is a brilliant name.
I pronounce it LOO-shen as well.
Loo-shen, a poll would have been cool because now I’m curious. Good luck.
I would say Loo-shen.
I like it
I’m from Iowa, and my initial pronunciation was LOO-see-un. However, I immediately corrected myself before I even finished reading the post and pronounce it LOO-shen.
Loo-shen - From [name_u]Texas[/name_u]
I pronounce it [name_m]LEW[/name_m]-see-en. I’m not a fan of [name_m]LEW[/name_m]-shen.
Loo-shen. I’m from the US.
I love this name as it seems very mature yet gentle. I pronounce it as [name_u]Lou[/name_u]-shen.
loo-see-un.
LOO-shen. I’m from Kentucky.
I say Loo-shin. I’ve never heard it pronounced any other way
[name_m]Lucian[/name_m] = Loo-shen, [name_m]Lucien[/name_m] = Loo-see-ehn. However, I like both pronunciations so either way I find acceptable. I’m from Michigan.
Loo-shen… I’m Australian. But I can’t guarantee that that is how everyone would say it. I have a thing for using the traditional pronunciations of name, however people are rather uneducated when it comes to names, so it wouldn’t surprise me to here other Aussies say “loo-can” cringes
I personally would go for [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-see-en first, like [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]. I don’t particularly like [name_f]Lu[/name_f]-shen, but I can’t fault it as a potential pronunciation for the name-it works with the spelling. I don’t think it would be a big issue-you would only have to correct people once.
