LIE-sander. [name_u]East[/name_u] Coast US, it’s the way we were taught to say it when we did Midsummer [name_u]Night[/name_u]’s [name_u]Dream[/name_u] in school.
Florida is a strange and mysterious land… I say Lie-sander too. Southeast US and also not [name_f]Florida[/name_f]
Lie-sand-uh. I’m from [name_f]England[/name_f].

Lih-Sand-Uh (Lih, like olive)
I’m from [name_u]New[/name_u] Zealand. Which, if you ask my husband, doesn’t qualify me to remark on any pronunciations
Ooh, [name_m]Lysander[/name_m]'s one of my favourites! I’m from [name_f]England[/name_f], and I say Lie-SZAN-der. It sort of starts off as an S and goes into the Z (if that makes sense).
[name_u]Or[/name_u] a recording might be easier haha.
Lie/Lye-[name_u]Sander[/name_u]

Oooo I just read A Midsummer [name_u]Night[/name_u]'s [name_u]Dream[/name_u] so I’m in love with this name right now!
I’m from the midwest US and I pronounce it Lie-sander. If it means anything, I have listened to a recording of the play and watched a movie version of it, and in both the characters said Lie-sander.
Lie-sander, from Northeast US
You have such a beautiful voice!
Crazy that I didnt think about that, my family is from Kalymnos, but I moved to florida when I was only an infant
Lysander, I would say here in [name_f]France[/name_f] LIZ-ahn-dare or i have seen it with a double s so the 1st syllable would be LISS
Something like [name_u]Lee[/name_u]-San-Der (Spain)
I say [name_f]Liz[/name_f]-ander / Liss-ander. [name_f]France[/name_f]/UK
I always assumed [name_f]Liz[/name_f]-ander. I’m from the east coast of the US.
