How do you pronounce Mila?

Ok so I really love the idea of the name [name_f]Mila[/name_f]… My question is, how would you pronounce it?

I say it Mee-lah… Is this correct? My husband says [name_m]Miller[/name_m]…

I have never met a [name_f]Mila[/name_f] so have no point if reference!!

Thank you!!

I say it different to both of you, more like Mi-lah.
Maybe it’s my Australian accent that makes it sound different?

I used to prn it my-la until I found out it was actually prn mee-la which I think is just perfecto!

Mee-lah. Old slavic name meaning delicate, gentle, soft, could mean grace.

I would also pronounce it Mee-lah but I live in [name_f]Austria[/name_f] and we pronounce names quite differently sometimes

My instinct is to say My-la, like [name_f]Miley[/name_f] and [name_f]Lila[/name_f]. But I’ve read that it’s Me-la, like [name_f]Mia[/name_f]. Either way it’s pretty but I find it a bit confusing!

I say Mee-la. I think it’s really pretty; although I prefer the somewhat similar [name_f]Maia[/name_f].

I say Mi-lah.

We have a [name_f]Mila[/name_f]. It’s pronounced Mee-la.

Mee-lah… I pronounce it the way Mila Kunis pronounces her name. I assume she’s right since it’s her name

It is pronounced mee-la. Like [name_f]Mila[/name_f] Kunis.

Mee-lah but my mom pronounces it my-lah, which is why I took it off my list.

I pronounce it MY-luh…That’s how [name_f]Mila[/name_f] Kunis pronounces it

I believe the actress pronounces it like “mee-la” since she’s a [name_f]Milena[/name_f] and Ukrainian by birth. [name_f]Canada[/name_f] had a first lady named [name_f]Mila[/name_f] Mulroney and she pronounced it the same way.

Well, her how name is [name_f]Milena[/name_f] anyway and it’s Ukranian. But to clear this up, on [name_f]Ellen[/name_f] she pronounces her own name as Mee-la and in many many interviews she not once corrects anyone for saying it mee-la.

[name_u]Mischa[/name_u] posted the same thing I was before I could post it. :stuck_out_tongue:

My-la, but I like mee-la as well
